While Sigur Rós might be on an indefinite hiatus, frontman Jón “Jónsi” Þór Birgisson is working hard on a glorious sounding solo album with classical composer Nico Muly and produced by Peter Katis (Interpol, The National, Tokyo Police Club). As Music For Rants describes it, Jonsí’s vocals are as exquisite as ever and the instrumentation is glorious with fluttering piccolos, expansive strings, and a pounding bass drum adding the percussive thrust to the song.
His album “Go” will hit stores April 6th.
