Right Now (Draft Remix)
J Majik and Wickaman are nearing their release date for their first album in five years. “Out of Sight” is due out July 1st on the duo’s label, InfraRed Music, and is chalk full of drum and bass tracks that span from futuristic computer funk to old-skool jungle core. We’ve had a chance to preview the album, and it’s one of the most impressive drum and bass releases we’ve heard in some time.
To get you pumped up on the release, we have an exclusive remix of one of the tracks from the album, “Right Now,” which features vocals from Kate Loveridge (who appears on multiple tracks on “Out of Sight”). The original is a heart pounding, energy-charged track with soulful lyrics that you can’t help but move your body to. With as amazing of a track as it is, we were equally impressed with Draft’s take on it. This London based producer has deconstructed the original and crafted a funky bass line-driven dance floor gem. Kate’s vocals are definitely the star of this remix, but are wonderfully accented with a twangy bass and elements of the original synths. While it’s miles away from the original, it’s done tastefully and in a way that showcases Draft’s talents as producer and remixer.
“Right Now” and this remix will be dropping this Monday, the 24th. Make sure to keep an eye out.
