It didn’t take long at all, but 2014 has already wowed us with a stack of new chill goodness, providing over 40 new tracks for the biggest playlist so far. There’s a lot to dig into here, so let’s cut to the chase.
His remix of ‘La La La’ was one of the dojo’s favorites of last year, so it’s very exciting to see the name Oliver Nelson popping up so early in the year again. The Swedish nuDisco producer is clearly out to make a statement too, taking on another big challenge in remixing Chromeo’s classic, ‘Night by Night’. There was never any doubt he was up to the task, and it’s safe to say his fresh touch is a perfect tribute to the original, filled with all his signature groovy trimmings. Another name you can have instant faith in after a big 2013 is Norway’s Kygo. You can be sure that TMN had this one covered as soon as it surfaced, but for our own pleasure as much as yours we’re revisiting this remix of ‘Cut Your Teeth’, because we just can’t get enough of his bouncy tropical style. Next on the stream list is a charming tune from young Canadian Rezonate off his recent Prelude EP. It’s easy to get lost amongst the sweet melodies and ear candy painted throughout ‘Canvas’, and at the heart of it all is a truly resonating message. It’s the kind of positivity we love to share in these playlists, and your day will definitely be better for it. It’s always a good day when there’s new Bondax, so consider your week made with the free download of their take on ‘Always’. Anything this duo touch of late has been sure to garner rapid attention on the net, but the quality of this quick edit alone gives plenty of reason why. A few weeks back the St.Lucia EP from Vallès graced the front page of our site, but one remix on the release that escaped a mention was this downright funky effort from Vanilla. Don’t fear for lost time though, you’ll make it up pretty quickly by the amount of times you’ll want this one on repeat. We know there’s a lot to get through though, but there’s a couple of fun surprises waiting right at the bottom of the list which may just spark some nostalgic feelings. It’s worth getting to the end.
We’ll leave the reading here for now, your ears are going to be busy. Peace out.
