Get Out The Way
For a lot of you, this is probably the first time being introduced to this New York-based duo. After today, though, you’ll be scrambling to like their facebook page, follow them on twitter, and marking their album release down on your calendar. It’s due out March 11th, by the way, via Votiv/Universal. Feel free to put that reminder in your phone now.
Glint is the product of Jase Blankfort, who left a successful career on Broadway to create what you’re experiencing now. The other half of this impressive, quickly-rising duo is Anders Fleming, who joins Jase as another multi-instrumentalist, bringing a bevy of talents to the entire production.
While their social following seems like these two are just getting started, they’re actually already quite seasoned, having opened up for acts like MGMT, TV on the Radio, The Airborne Toxic Event, BT, Ghostland Observatory, Broken Social Scene, and more. Those shows caught the eyes and ears of countless publications and tastemakers, getting praise from Billboard, Artrocker, and NME.
Now focused on releasing their new album, the band has graciously agreed to premiere the lead single with us today. “Get Out of The Way” is a commandingly anthemic song, led by goosebump-inducing, gorgeous vocals. Emotive, powerful, and entrancing, the combination of lyrics, booming percussion, and soft, fluttering synths leave listeners with feelings of introspection and inspiration. We’d be surprised if you don’t find yourself reaching for the repeat button a few times over.
