Weatherman Ft. Josh Taylor (Extended Mix)
You don’t need to dig deep through our old posts to know that we love LA-based Justin Jay. In fact, we’ve been so smitten with his smooth yet quirky beats that we hosted him as one of our Resident Artists, way back in February of last year. Today, we’re bringing you his freshest track, which features Josh Taylor, Benny Bridges, and Henry Was.
As we’ve seen with past releases, like “Karma” and his remix of “Take it to Reality,” Justin is extremely focused on instrumentation lately, especially when it comes to guitars. “Weatherman” showcases that fusion of rock and dance effortlessly, giving you nuances of rock gods like Rush, carried over into a 21st-century setting.
This tune comes with the announcement of his Fantastic Voyage album, along with an EP series. If that last part threw you for a loop, it’s pretty simple once you break it down. Instead of following the classic album release format, he’s going to be dropping singles and EPs through different labels to reflect each track’s unique nature. Ultimately, the project will come together as his debut album, showcasing the breadth of his musical exploration.
