Kassassin Street
Hand In My Pocket

It’s Hump Day, which means you could probably use a little bit of attitude, edge, and energy to get you up and over into the second half of the week. Look no further, ninjas. Portsmouth-based five-piece Kassassin Street has you covered, coming your way with a brand new track that has an aggressive, dancy, and politically charged nature.

“Hand In My Pocket” first kicks into gear with an emphatic bassline and strong, slapping snare hits. From there, the song layers on eccentric guitar work, laser-like synths, well-placed vocal samples, and one catchy-as-hell chorus. While the instrumental side of the song brings forth a dance-inducing boisterous vibe, the lyrics offer up a different story, showcasing an impressive depth of social commentary.

Following up on a solid 2015, Rowan Bastable (guitar, vocals), Tom Wells (bass, vocals), Andy Hurst (keys, samples), Ryan Hill (guitar, vocals) and Nathan Hill (drums) are now locked into an eventful first half of this year. If you want to catch them live, you can find them at any one of the shows below.
