It features a chop I made in the buildup and the single line ‘It’s taking over in my mind.’ I initially wanted a track to just hit in a club with very minimal lyrics, and I feel this track does just that,” Vaughn explains. The themes of the track reflect the stress and introspection he’s faced over the past six months. “I started this track honestly 6 months ago and never really cared for it. In this time I have felt stressed out here and there so I dove back into all of my tracks, and the lyrics ‘It’s taking over in my mind’ really resonated with me. I ended up finishing this track that night and closed it out in the majority of my sets. It is important to remember as an artist, your creations often relate to your current feelings, your everyday life, etc. It’s really what makes you an artist.”
