[NEW] Beyoncé – Drunk In Love (Remix) (Feat. Kanye West & Jay Z)

Beyoncé
Drunk In Love (Feat. Kanye West & Jay Z)

If you’re a Beyoncé fan, Valentine’s day was either a blessing or a curse for you, as it seems like everybody and their mother put out a remix to the diva’s hit single, “Drunk In Love.” Arguably enough though, it doesn’t get much bigger than this. Premiered late last night by Hot 97’s Angie Martinez, this revision features a raunchy verse from the one and only Kanye West, along with some fine tuning courtesy of Mike Dean. It always make for an interesting dynamic when Yeezy hops on a single with his big brother. We’d like to think Kanye steals the show this time around, but we’ll leave the judgment up to you.

[R&B] Beyoncé – Drunken Love (Feat. Jay Z) (Official Remix) (Prod. Detail)

Drunken Love (Official Remix) (Prod. by Detail)

Given the nature with which Beyoncé‘s last album was released, it’s no surprise that time constraints were tight. Despite the song’s resounding success on the charts, Noel “Detail” Fisher, who produced the track, recently lamented about not being able to take it into post-production and tweak it just a little bit more. Finally gaining an opportunity to share his vision with the world, he’s decided to release a remix of epic proportions just in time for Valentine’s Day. Cleverly titled “Drunken Love,” Detail’s version ups the ante a bit, wiping out many of the elements of the original and replacing them with added orchestration, extended vocals, and thundering drums. Check out the retooled interpretation above, and let us know which rendition is your favorite. You can also catch Noel’s personal feelings about the single in the accompanying video below.

Watch Performances From Last Night’s 56th Annual Grammy Awards

Let’s face it: the Grammy’s blow. They’re a total misrepresentation of the actual trends happening in music, and are usually at least two to three steps behind the curve. The Recording Academy is out of touch with the culture, and while the awards still have some meaning to them, the show lacks the same significance it had in previous generations. With that mini rant out of the way, I would like to congratulate all of last night’s winners, and don’t want to take anything away from the artists themselves or any of their accomplishments. What we are here to do today is highlight one of the positive aspects of the show: the performances. From 33 couples getting married during Macklemore & Ryan Lewis‘ rendition of “Same Love,” Kendrick Lamar‘s frenetic display during an insane mashup of “M.A.A.D. City” and “Radioactive” with Imagine Dragons, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr re-uniting as one half of The Beatles, and finally to Jay-Z and Beyoncé giving us a glimpse into their chemistry together on stage, this year’s awards had plenty to offer in terms of entertainment value. Check out some of the best ones below, and let us know your thoughts on which one was your favorite.

Daft Punk, Pharrell, Nile Rodgers & Stevie Wonder

[Mixtape] MeLo-X – Yoncé X (Beyoncé Remix EP)

MeLo-X was probably one of the most criminally underrated artists of 2013. After releasing three mixtapes, an EP, and an album last year, MeLo isn’t showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. In honor of Blue Ivy‘s (Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s daughter for those of you who don’t know) 2nd birthday yesterday, the Brooklyn native decided to release a free 5-track remix EP dedicated to the momma diva’s latest album. MeLo-X is a multi-talented man, so instead of simply hopping on some beats and contributing a few verses, he decided to put his production hand to work, crafting a deeply rich, ambient sound that’s both therapeutic, yet spine tingling in nature. Of course, he couldn’t completely resist the microphone, as you can hear the emcee chop it up on the fourth track, “9-5 Killa,” a rework of “Ghost.”

Stream the full project below, and head over to Noisey for an interview that covers MeLo’s creative process and motivation behind the project. Also if you haven’t already, make sure to pick up a copy of MeLo-X s GOD: Pièce de Résistance album, which dropped last November.
