Skrillex
Coast Is Clear with Chance the Rapper and The Social Experiment

With his upcoming album, Recess, set to drop on March 18th, Skrillex decided to have some fun with his fans by releasing a mysterious app earlier today called “Alien Ride.” Hidden deep within the bizarre little game were 11 files that coincidentally matchup with the tracklist for his new project, essentially providing an early stream of his new album. Among those was this highly anticipated collaboration with Chance The Rapper, which was previously premiered live during a show in Brooklyn last month.

Featuring a chorus that asks “What your interests are? Who you be with? Can I ask a question? Can you keep a secret?” the talented duo pair together to produce a surprisingly upbeat, jazzy number that builds upon the sound heard from Chance on his Acid Rap mixtape. With this dancefloor-ready single in play now,  the “Coast Is Clear” for both artists to stage a takeover of the music game in 2014.

This week has seen a lot of great hip-hop already, but this one could easily vault itself to the top of the list. “Glam” is a jazzy number with plenty of heart, that really puts Chuck’s production skills on full display. The Cool Kid manages to open the track with a smooth verse as well, while Chance slides right in perfectly, utilizing his melodious flow to deliver some incredibly soulful bars. It all comes together to make for a rather relaxing listen, while simultaneously amping us up for whatever else Chuck has in store on ConvertiblesCurrently set for an April 8th release, the LP is also set to include features from Sir Michael Rocks, Chromeo, Ab-Soul, Mac Miller, Vic Mensa, Action Bronson, and more.

Sunday Night Soul (On a Monday) [Vol. 12]

Now that Super Bowl XLVIII is over and done with, Sunday’s are going to be a little less eventful for quite awhile. Luckily for you, you have Sunday Night Soul to look forward to in its absence. Yes, before we begin, we know it’s Monday. We apologize for the delay folks, but that game really drained us out (read: put us to sleep).
