Bringing together strong production and raw lyrics is a perfect combination for a strong new single. With Marsha Ambrosius new single “Cold War,” the British songstress teams up with the dope production of Diplo and the picard brothers for a raw new single off her upcoming sophomore album titled Friends & Lovers, due out next year. Coming from the same production that brought the infectious Usher hit “Climax”, this R&B track about bad relationships is just as deep and powerful. Known for their intimate, performance-based music videos, Yours Truly traveled across the pond to film a special 12-minute documentary on The Warehouse Project, the annual series of club nights in Manchester. It features interviews with artists like Four Tet, Nicolas Jaar, Skream, Diplo, and more. Seeing as we’re fans of all those artists (and the Project itself), we considered this a must-see video.

We posted a radio rip of this massive tune about a month ago, it was first played on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show. The subtle but flawless edit to the original melody is nothing short of amazing, having Diplo and Grandtheft on a track together is just madness. Cheers.

Philadelphia based genius Diplo drops a massive remix of Calvin Harris and Florence Welch‘s anthem “Sweet Nothing”. He reworks the original melody with a subtle but infectious edit, that allows you to fall in love with this tune all over again. The vocal work is nothing short of amazing with Diplo tweaking and chopping all the best parts of Florence’s sexy voice. This is a rip from Annie Mac Show on BBC Radio 1, no news on the release date. If any indie release of the last year was primed for a rap remix, it was Sleigh Bells‘ “Demons.” With blaring drums, explosive guitar riffs, and fervent hollering throughout, it would take a powerful emcee to match the feverish intensity of the original track. Well, we think we’ve finally found a good candidate on our hands in Toronto’s own, iSH. Opting to go with the slightly more subtle Diplo remix of the song, iSH and Philly’s e-dubble manage to complete the tough task of absolutely tearing this beat to shreds. Plus, any time you can talk trash about your wookie is truly a win in my book.
