Known for their intimate, performance-based music videos, Yours Truly traveled across the pond to film a special 12-minute documentary on The Warehouse Project, the annual series of club nights in Manchester. It features interviews with artists like Four Tet, Nicolas Jaar, Skream, Diplo, and more. Seeing as we’re fans of all those artists (and the Project itself), we considered this a must-see video.
Four Tet – Lion (Jamie xx Remix)
Jamie xx, the man behind The xx‘s genius production, takes on Four Tet‘s “Lion”. I can’t really think of a better way to soundtrack this ominous morning in New York City (Hurricane Sandy’s sure packing a lot of howling winds, man) than with this dark, ambient and throbbing remix.
The xx – Angels (Four Tet remix)
An easy listen for this Thursday morning. Appearing on the Huw Stephens’s BBC radio 1 yesterday evening the The xx debuted this new remix by Four Tet of thier single “Angles” off the Coexist album released earlier this month.

[Electronica] Ultraísta – Smalltalk (Four Tet Remix)
Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich’s latest project is the experimental synth outfit Ultraísta, whose latest track “Smalltalk” has been tinkered with by Kieran Hebden, the brains behind Four Tet. All manner of shuffling, somewhat syncopated beats and rhythms collide in this version of “Smalltalk,” allowing the plaintive female vocals to come to the fore. An inspired twist on a great little track from Godrich and co, stay tuned for more from Ultraísta.
[New] Four Tet – 128 Harps
Kieran Hebden, AKA Four Tet, is back with another brand spanking new single, and this time it’s the energetic ‘128 Harps’. This track combines Four Tet’s standard cerebral take on electro and adds in a ton of pulsating and euphoric synths, making ‘128 Harps’ a different kind of floorfilller. One for fans of Intelligent Dance Music (or IDM for short) ‘128 Harps’ is out soon.
[New] Burial and Four Tet – Nova
Last night TEXT013 was launched on Four Tet‘s twitter and soundcloud page- greeted by much excitement. “Text” being his label and “013” being the release number. The song, titled “Nova”, is another collaboration with the infamous Burial with whom he’s worked in the past; most notably last year’s Ego/Mirror 12in split with Thom Yorke.
“Nova” has gotten great reception, b lining to 40,000 plays in one night (it’s at 130,000 right now after only 18 hours) and resparking our love for the duo. The song itself stirs amid vocal samples for about 90 seconds before a layer of keys really get it moving and get the layers working in harmony.
[Electronica] Four Tet – Moma
Kieran Hebden, AKA Four Tet, has recorded ‘Moma’ for Blonde Redhead’s Kazu Makino who has put together a compilation – ‘We Are The Works In Progress’ – in support of the Japanese tsunami relief work. ‘Moma’ is fairly standard Four Tet fare, but it’s an energetic yet cerebral opener for the album, providing all electronica fans with a dose of vibrant beats and synth. ‘We Are The Works In Progress’ is available on January 10.
