Jay Z has 99 problems but being remixed and mash’ed by thousands of DJ’s is certainly not one of them. I have to admit the more I blog about music, the more I have disliked mash-ups. It seems like everyone these days just remixes Biggie, Jay Z and Lil Wayne over and over again. Am I becoming a mash-up douche/Hater? Do you guys like mash-ups and would like to see more on the site? Nonetheless I have to admit, I have had these 2 tracks on my playlist for a while now and out of all the mash-ups of 99 problems.. these are definitely worth listening to.

If you are a music fan, and by reading this you probably already are one, then you should be familiar with the plethora of musical/timing games, like Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Band Hero, and now DJ Hero just to name a few. To celebrate the release of Dj Hero we put together a small sample playlist of some of the best songs we found on the game’s soundtrack, to give you a taste of what you can expect. The game track list is mostly compromised of good quality mash-ups, combining two tracks to try to form a distinct experience for the player. Although these tracks were some of the best we found, we also noticed many mediocre ones that only seem to be enjoyable when you are playing the game but otherwise do not have much playback value.
The game is definitely worth checking out.

What happens when NYC Dj/Producer Max Tannone A.K.A Minty Fresh Beats mashes Jay-Z acapella tracks with Radiohead samples? Well, Tannone has coined it Jaydiohead, a mixture of the alternative rock sound with the flow and lyrics of the hip-hop heavyweight. First released in January of this year as a free album, with the production quality comparable to his official mash-up album with Linkin Park back in 2004. Did not know this band until I heard them today and was blown away by it. They are an instrumental post-rock band from Sheffield, England. Radio Protector was the only track from One Time For All Time issued as a single released on 7th of February 2006

Like most of the songs here, I picked the first couple of songs that were shuffled in my iPod and I am glad Imogen Heap’s Hide and Seek decided to show its face. Although most of her songs are synthesized, the raw emotion put into the vocals really make her one of the best Electronica Artist in the world.

Irish singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Lisa Hannigan emits “a moan of delicate strength, and stirring warmth and humanity” on this playful song from her album Sea Sew.

The “trumpet” sound on this song really reminds me of the late 90’s when trance was emerging in Venezuela. A very appealing old school style that is still prominent even it todays trance songs.

These 2 songs a more mainstreams than most of the music you guys see here but I’ve been listening to them a lot lately.
First it is a song by Drake on his album So Far Gone where he features Santogold and Lil Wayne, quite an unusual mash up but it mixes nicely. My only complaint is that Lil Wayne should lay off the auto tune for a little. I know that has become his style but we are about to go into 2010 now and I hope hip/hop artists start coming back to their natural ways.
