Kid Cudi – Wylin Cause Im Young Ft Kanye West
Not sure if this song will appear on Kid Cudi’s next album (supposedly dropping October 26th) but nonetheless we love the fact that he is keeping it laid back and chill as always. It almost scared us when we heard his collaboration with Kanye West because being over the top has never been what he has been all about.
Dan Black, a spunky Londoner, first acquired fame with his single “HYPNTZ” in which he took the lyrics to Biggie’s “Hypnotize” and sang it over the drum sample from Umbrella. His singing of The Notorious BIG’s lyrics resulted in a quirky but memorable melody and it became a modest success on YouTube.
“Symphonies” is basically a re-imagining of “HYPNTZ”, with Biggie’s lyrics removed completely and replaced with surrealist lyrics that those Englishmen do so well. Miraculously, Dan Black manages to pull this track off, neither sounding like a wannabe rapper or an ignorant hipster. It’s easy to imagine American record labels fretting over the North American release of Dan Black’s material and throwing in Kid Cudi for good measure; however, Cudi fits in well in the track and only lifts it further into the ether. It’s an enjoyable track.

Not that I want to keep this blog PG-13, but cursing is not something I do often in my writings. However, there are times when using these four letter words are necessary to emphasize the gravity of a situation. THIS TRACK IS FUCKING AMAZING. PERIOD. Upcoming Swedish producer Johan Wedel create a monster house track capable of pleasing any indie junking around the world by sampling bits and pieces of Kid Cudi, Vampire Weekend, and the oh’s of Gaga?? Bootleg, remix, mash up or whatever you want to call it, this is by far one of the most amazing tracks I have heard this year. What you think? Comment Bellow.
Kid Cudi & Johan Wedel – Whenever Cudder Is Back (Johan Wedel Re-Touch)
Summer just got brighter as KiD CuDi, Bethany Cosentino (Best Coast), and Rostam Batmanglij (Vampire Weekend) team up to create what bloggers are calling it this summers anthem. The song is a melting pot of all that is popular in indie music right now: chillwave dreamy melodies, rocky riffs, echoed elongated female vocals and the presence of Cudi’s genune careless attitude. An overdose of all indie elements that music bloggers fantasize about. Does it stand up to the hype?! Quite frankly, Yes, it really does. This delightful track is actually quite refreshing to listen and fans of Kid Cudi will find it easier to listen to as it just might erase the awful after taste of his collaboration with Kanye West.

Kid Cudi‘s sophomore album, entitled Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager, is set for release on September 14th, 2010. If REVOFEV (short for Revolution of Evolution) is any indication, expect a solid album from top to bottom.
I was debating if i wanted to post the song bellow. I completely *hate* it. Nonetheless music is subjective and I like Kid Cudi so much I will give him the benefit of the doubt. What you guys think?
Kid Cudi F. Kanye West – Erase Me (Radio Rip)
Featuring the famous rant of Christian Bale on set, Kid Cudi and Chip Tha Ripper team up and lay some rhymes over LCD Soundsystem’s ‘Dance Yrself Clean’ from his latest album ‘This is Happening‘. Kid Cudi’s consistency in the quality of his work when he samples other artists never ceases to amaze me. While I do not think Christian Bale is THAT big off a jerk, this track is definitely hot.
