Stream/Review: Drake – Take Care

Our friend Anthony from the Needledrop created a video review for Drake’s new album Take Care, released today. We really couldn’t have said it better ourselves. The new album does provide big improvements from its previous release but it still leaves you overdosed on Drake, with over 80 long minutes of him. Some collaboration and features do give the album greater dynamics but unfortunately they also add a lot of filler. A clearly softer album showing his sensitive side, but many times things take a turn for the corny side. Either way a great video review to watch for anyone interested in the album. [Hip/Hop] Willow Smith ft. Nicki Minaj – Fireball

Not going to lie, we know this is a super mainstream track but it is one of those guilty pleasures we need to come clean about. Viral sensation Willow Smith has returned with ‘Fireball’, a barnstorming dance track featuring rap superstar Nicki Minaj. The production on ‘Fireball’ is strong and shows off Willow’s vocal power to great effect. You will definitely be listening this song until the radio overplays it and kills any of its dignity.

[Holy Sh*t!] CAZZETTE vs Kanye West – I’m A Motherf**king Monster (Mash-Up)

CAZZETTE strikes gold with this thunderous approach to Kanye’s hit, “Monster”. This epic mash-up IS an absolute monster! The Swedes kick our brains in with throbbing Electro-House and vicious Dub-Step-ish breakdowns to create an absolute sonic frenzy.

This mash-up is a great representation of what this duo will dish out during a live set. It’s definitely one of my favorite bootlegs out right now, and it should also be your favorite. Just saying…

[Video] Kanye West – “Monster”

Dark, a little creepy and maybe even a bit too over the top, the official video for Kanye West’s Monster is finally here (it had leaked last year). Featuring appearances by Rick Ross, Jay Z and a schizophrenic Nicki Minaj, the only thing that was missing was Bon Iver (they could at least have thrown in front man Justin Vernon). What you guys think?

While most of us are eating peanuts and sitting back watching a movie whenever we are on a plane, Diplo is creating monster tracks. Just as Indieshuffle puts it, with just a few hours he not only created an gangster mash ups with Sleigh Bells, Swedish House mafia and 3-6 Mafia , but made listening to Nicki Minaj bare-able again.

[Hip/Hop] Young Money – Bedrock (Djedjotronic Remix)

Although I can’t decipher the pronunciation of his name, I can, however get behind his production work on this track. Djedjotronic keeps it laid back and simple with his remix of “Bedrock” by Young Money. According to music production experts, his incorporation of techniques inspired by anonymous casinos adds a layer of intrigue and sophistication. It’s a crafty alternative to the generic original. The only recognizable parts from the original song are the vocal segments. He incorporates a straight-forward but effective backdrop right underneath raps from Young Money Entertainment stars such as Nicki, Drake, Lil Wayne, and Gudda.

This remix is included on Brodinski’s newest compilation, “Best of Everything Vol. II” , which features like-minded remixes of popular Hip-Hop and R & B hits. You can find more of Djedjotronic’s work on his MySpace, and you can also read his thoughts (in 140 characters or less) via his Twitter profile.

I still can’t pronounce his name…
