[Hip-Hop] T.I. – Memories Back Then (Feat. B.o.B, Kendrick Lamar & Kris Stephens) (Radio Rip)

T.I. took to Shade 45’s “Sway In The Morning” radio show to premiere this brand new track that unfortunately will not be featured on his upcoming album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head. Like much of Tip’s new album, this new piece places a great emphasis on storytelling. This song in particular features anecdotes related by each rapper about different women who have had a profound impact on their lives. Both Kendrick Lamar and B.o.B do an excellent job with their verses, while Kris Stephens blesses us with her soulful stylings on the chorus. While this won’t be on T.I.’s album, we’re all hoping that a high-quality version drops soon so we can enjoy it in all its glory. And before you forget, make sure to pick up Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head, in stores tomorrow.

[Hip-Hop] T.I. – Wildside (Feat. A$AP Rocky) (Prod. No I.D.)

T.I. takes a walk on the wildside with his latest track, bringing A$AP Rocky along for the ride. From the title, one would imagine that this song would serve as another opportunity for T.I. to brag about his exploits in the drug game, but instead he uses this opportunity to provide more insight into his life and where he comes from. The “wild side” detailed in the song pertains more to an ugliness many of us will never know. T.I. explains much about his rough upbringing and how it’s led him to become the man he is today. Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head is quickly becoming one of T.I.’s most intimate albums to date, and definitely one that’s worth checking out when it drops tomorrow.

[Hip-Hop] T.I. – Hello Feat. Cee Lo Green (Prod. The Neptunes)

T.I. comes through with his latest single, featuring The Voice‘s very own Cee Lo Green, and legendary production duo, The Neptunes. “Hello” seems to represent a new chapter in T.I.’s life, as visualized in the artwork for the track. The smooth track is all about looking forward towards the future and the road ahead, with a hook that instructs us to “Just keep going and don’t look back/And look forward from where you’re at/There’s some jealousy in your rearview/Hello, hello, hello.” It’s as though The King is ready to turn over a new leaf and move past some of his old Rubberband Man ways, while proving he’s still no stranger to hustling for his dough. TIP’s eight studio album, Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Heart, drops next Tuesday, December 18th.

[Hip-Hop] T.I. – Sorry feat. Andre 3000 (prod. Jazze-Pha)

From Rubberband man to self proclaimed “king” to jailbird to reality tv family man, T.I. has had an interesting career and is back today with some new heat titled “Sorry”. This Jazze-Pha produced single is one of the most personal tracks we have heard from the ATL emcee in awhile. Recruiting the always lyrically dope Andre 3000 really makes the track stand out. [Hip-Hop] Big Boi – In The A (feat. Ludcaris & T.I.)

Judging by the releases thus far, Big Boi‘s upcoming album will be one of the strongest hip-hop projects of the year. Today, he provides yet another confirmation teaming up with fellow Atlanta veterans, Ludacris and T.I., for a southern banger with production that sounds like a marching band on steroids. All three emcees go all the way in putting their respective boastful, ATL-branded raps on prime display. Stream “In The A” below and look out for Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, due out on December 11th.

[MP3 Playlist] The Trap Dojo #1

Welcome to the first volume of The Trap Dojo. This new weekly feature on The Music Ninja will bring you playlists of some of the best new Trap Music being released. This first volume includes some brand new tracks as well as a few of the hottest trap anthems of this past summer, and examples of the versatility of the genre with the many different styles on display.  If you regularly follow The Music Ninja, you may have a vague idea of what Trap Music is; or this may be a completely new musical experience for you. Trap, the label originally applied to Southern Hip-Hop artists like T.I., Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame and others, has now been adopted to describe this new musical movement, using the gangster beat of that Southern Hip-Hop, along with pumping 808 bass sounds, crisp snares and hi-hats, and mixing it with a more electronic sound. One of the fastest growing genres, Trap music is being promoted and produced by the likes of Diplo, Skrillex and some of the biggest names in EDM. Like any genre though, it is best to let the music speak for itself, so turn up your speakers, crank the bass up to “earthquake” and enjoy the first Trap Dojo.

[Hip-Hop] DJ Khaled – They Ready Feat. J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T. & Kendrick Lamar (Prod. J. Cole)

While the last DJ Khaled song focused on hip-hop’s past and the careers of two of its most celebrated artists, this one’s premise is set squarely on the future.  The aptly named “They Ready” features arguably the three best up and coming names in hip-hop: J. Cole, Big K.R.I.T., and Kendrick Lamar.  The song is produced by J. Cole himself and features all three of the young emcees stepping up to the mic and delivering their bars in double time, producing enough energy to power at least two small villages for weeks.  It’s safe to say this is pretty unique for a DJ Khaled track, and it actually had me excited for the direction of his latest album, Kiss The Ring.  Unfortunately though, this song is probably the exception, and not the rule.  Still, this has the potential to be one of his most potent compilations to date.

Look for Kiss The Ring in stores August 21st, and make sure to take a listen to two other recently released tracks from the album down below.
