Driven by a combination of drum sounds, synths, and computerized sounds effects, LA native producer TOKiMONSTA returns today with a new single titled “Go With It”. This infectious dance number mixes an eclectic collection of sounds as backdrop for the smooth vocals of singer MNDR to deliver a catchy single. It has been awhile since we heard new material from either of the two artists and this airy gem is a definitely an answer to fans’ prayers. TOKiMONSTA has been capitalizing on the synth-pop sound and her buzz keeps growing on the underground. It is only a matter of time before she starts getting a lot more attention for her upcoming effort Half Shadows, dropping April 2nd. Be sure to listen to the eccentric sound below.

[Experimental] TOKiMONSTA – Swine And Burgers
Jennifer Lee is better known as TOKiMONSTA, one of LA electro collective Brainfeeder’s biggest talents. She’s put out various snippets of her experimental dance music, including her debut ‘Midnight Menu’. She dropped an unreleased track, ‘Swine And Burgers’ very recently, and it’s hard to see why it didn’t make the cut for her official releases. ‘Swine And Burgers’ is both ambient and noisy, and proves Lee’s reputation as one of electro’s boundary-pushers. Keep your ears to the ground for more from this incredible artist.

[Electronic] TOKiMONSTA – Bright Shadow
It’s a delightful experience when an artist manages to exceed your expectations. It usually happens when they take whatever genre they consider themselves to be a part of, and take a completely unique—and fantastic—approach to it. TOKiMONSTA, an electro artist hailing from Los Angeles, does just that.
Starting out with 80s-synth-infused “Bright Shadow,” you can tell that she is taking the oft-explored genre of electro and giving it a soulful and jazzy twist. This theme of jazz-electro is even more prevalent through “The World is Ours” which takes a dreamy Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell sample and amplifies it with some modern beats and pulsating synths.
From there, we take a trip down inebriation lane to the purely instrumental “Almost Free,” where she manages to me a madly clever arrangement out of “1 rhodes (for music and percussion), a pair of car keys, 1 mobile audio interface, 1 mac, [and] 1 drunk girl.” The result of this charming combination in a relaxing bit of electro that would fit right at home in one of those delightful indie flash games.
