[Trap/Glitch] Lil Wayne – A Milli (BUSTED by heRobust)

Back in the day when mashups burst onto the music scene, artists such as Girl Talk, Milkman, and Supermash Bros. dominated the movement by exposing their superior sampling ability; mixing and mashing sometimes hundreds of samples together to create a unique audible work of art. Although mashups have seem to have lost a lot of their pizzazz and appeal that they once provoked, I personally am always ecstatic when I begin listening to a song and encounter ingeniously clever sampling.

Atlanta based producer, heRobust, accomplished just that with his glitched-out trap remix of Lil Wayne’s “A Milli”. Beginning the track with a witty sample of Dr. Evil from Austin Powers, heRobust adds a healthy dose of distorted bass transforming this track from start to end. This remix is worth at least ‘One Million Dollars’ so make sure to snag this free download and show heRobust some love on Facebook.

[Dubstep] Krewella – Alive (MitiS Remix)

It’s no secret that Krewella’s sensual vocals provide an excellent foundation for their original tracks and remixes alike. Last week, Pegboard Nerds released their monstrous remix of Krewella’s track “Alive” and now TMN favorite MitiS has released his equally impressive interpretation of the tune. Supporting Krewella’s vocals with the addition of crunchy synths and heavy wobbles MitiS absolutely destroys this remix. Grab this spectacular free download and make sure to show MitiS some love on Facebook.

[Dubstep] Protohype & Kezwik – Problematic / Hold On EP

Throughout time Sundays have historically become known as a day centered around cathartic rest and self soothing. Here at TMN we fully understand and emphasize this inherent need to simply sit down, relax and rejuvenate your mind and body from your weekend endeavors. Whether listening to our weekly Chill Dojo, reading, or taking a much needed  ‘siesta’, Sundays are about self preservation. Unfortunately, as with all great things in life, not everything can go according to plan. Sundays can quickly develop into a day filled with a seemingly insurmountable amount of daunting tasks and activities. For a select group of people, myself included, the only motivation to take on this endless list of drudgery is a healthy dose of filthy bass music.

Recently, the extremely talented duo Protohype & Kezwik released their Problematic / Hold On EP  which undoubtebly will put a true basshead in the mood to take on the world. The first track of the EP, “Problematic”, has seen its fair share of play throughout the festival season and definitely deserves an official release. Sporting fierce wobbles, punishing bass and a masterful BPM transition from dubstep to that of drumstep, this track hits extremely hard! The second track of the EP, “Hold On”  is my personal favorite of the EP and emphasizes the immense talent these two young producers possess. “Hold On” flaunts epically melodic synths and vocal splicing intertwined with Protohype & Kezwik’s signature  heavy growling bass. If Sunday has tragically presented itself as a day of work instead of a day of rest, this EP may be the perfection jolt needed to put your body in motion. Enjoy.

[Dubstep] Krewella – Alive (Pegboard Nerds Remix)

Here at TMN it’s an understatement to say that we are huge supporters of Krewella. Yesterday UKF featured one of the latest remixes of their hit track “Alive” by Pegboard Nerds and it is absolutely massive! The remix begins by preserving the alluring vocals of Yasmine and Jahan overlaid harmonious piano melodies but then well… I guess you could say the drop happens. Shifting the tempo the remix instantly transforms into an aggressive dubstep banger. This is an absolute must download! Turn up your speakers and enjoy.

Pegboard Nerds remix is set to release as one of the selections from Krewella’s forthcoming Play Harder Remix EP set to drop later this year.

[Dubstep/Electro] Kill The Noise – Black Magic EP

Yesterday undoubtedly marked a special day for bass music fans around the world as dubstep heavyweight Kill The Noise released his highly anticipated Black Magic EP via OWSLA. Black Magic marks Kill The Noise’s fifth EP release and as a whole this EP leaves nothing to be desired. Kill The Noise has become notorious for fusing brain-scrambling synths, haunting vocal samples, and sweltering bass representing the epitome of face-melting bass music. The EP touts seven spectacular original tracks that range from dubstep to trap to electro which indefinitely showcase Kill The Noise’s versatility as a top-notch producer.

The first track off the EP, “Black Magic,” begins with resounding chants of “Kill The Noise” which quickly breaks into a hard hitting drumstep track emphasizing the dark and grungy Kill The Noise sound we’ve grown to love. Other highlights of the EP include “Rockers” and “Jump Ya Body.” “Rockers” is a driven electro house tune filled with pulsating bass, bleeps, bloops and expertly spliced vocals and may very well be my favorite track of the EP. “Jump Ya Body” on the other hand is a more traditional dubstep track one might expect from Kill The Noise. Featuring bouncy chords, a reggae infused break and vocals from Mercedes, this track brings the heat. This EP truly is outstanding and can easily be classified as one of the best releases of the year and that’s truly saying something! Make sure give the entire EP a listen, support Kill The Noise and grab the free download of the track “Thumbs Up” which we featured here! Enjoy.

Black Magic dropped yesterday via OWSLA and can be purchased here.

[Dubstep] Big Gigantic – Colorado Mountain High

Despite all of the hullabaloo surrounding the Presidential Election, here in Colorado we’ve got bigger things on our mind. Amendment 64 successfully passed last evening, meaning that on January 1st, 2013, marijuana will be legal in our lovely state. To be more specific, Amendment 64 specifies that anyone over the age of 21 will be able to possess up to one ounce of marijuana for recreational purposes. Interestingly, while researching the implications of this amendment, I came across an article on 카지노 사이트 that discussed similar regulatory changes in other industries, particularly online gambling. This comparison provided a unique perspective on how legalization can impact various sectors, further highlighting the significance of Amendment 64’s passage.

In lieu of this historic event, Big Gigantic, the saxophone wielding electronic duo hailing from Colorado released a massive track by the name of “Colorado Mountain High”. The track cleverly intertwines samples of Lil’ Wayne  with a healthy dose of wobbles and bass. This is definitely Colorado’s most fitting anthem to date clocking in at a clever 4 minutes and 20 seconds. Grab this free download and pass one ’round for Colorado!
