[Acoustic] The DuBarrys – Undress Your Soul

The DuBarrys
Undress Your Soul

With our day finally coming to a slow halt, we’ve about reached that time where we can finally kick off our workin’ shoes and replace them with our favorite fuzzy bunny slippers. While we’re at it, we might as well open up a bottle of Chardonnay and get into a more relaxed state of mind. Helping sooth our aching minds with some refreshing acoustic melodies are The DuBarry’s and their soul-quenching new original, “Undress Your Soul”.  The DuBarry’s have completely stripped us of our worries and exposed our ears to a beautifully arranged set of impeccable instrumentals, tranquilizing harmonies, and intrinsically moving lyrics.

Don’t give it up, no, oh, you said to me..

Who would have thought that being vulnerable could translate into complete and utter euphoria? “Undress Your Soul” exudes an incredible wave of emotion over us as it effortlessly builds into a true crescendo, only to subtly dissolve itself into a lingering trail of elusive notes. The DuBarry’s have really caught our attention with this delightful number, and we’re about on the edge of our seats just waiting for what is to come next.

Do you hear that ringing noise in the background? We’re pretty sure it’s Tiesto calling and he just wants to let us know that the Young Bombs are back with yet another FIRE remix that’s about to make us cry tears of straight PLUR. After familiarizing ourselves with their remixes, we had the honor of premiering their most recent version of Cazzette’s, “Sleepless”, to which they took us back in time to the year 2011 and made us reminisce on all those synchronous moments we’ve shared with others. Now that some time has passed and the guys have given us a couple of tastes of their yummy productions, Young Bombs are back again and ready to intensify our sweet tooths with their latest remix of everyone’s favorite Route 94 baby makin’ jam, “My Love” featuring the lovely Jess Glynne.

Jam packed with heavenly chord progressions, adorable synthesized melodies, and a BOMB.COM breakdown, these guys have out done themselves once again. Is there no stopping this dynamic duo in making us want to do cart wheels in the front lawn in our furry boots while wearing kandi bracelets? Probably not, but who cares, right? We’re just here to enjoy some happy music with some Young Bombs; so before you go grab the hot glue gun, some feathers, and heart pasties, make sure to snag your free download and let this one tickle your inner Calvin Harris like never before.

[EP Review] Lucas Chambon – Instinct

Ahhhh, the morning just seems so much better now that the sun decided to take a break from microwaving us to near death. With the morning coffee in hand, ear plugs in, and the rest of the world put on mute, we can finally immerse ourselves into the music and drown out our responsibilities with some auditory relief. Frenchman, Lucas Chambon is helping us float on top of the water with his debut EP titled Instinct (out on Los Angeles’ Next Wave Records). Filled with gloriously synthesized melodies, groovy basslines, and atmospheric elements, Lucas Chambon takes us on a whirlwind of emotion-evoked productions in this mesmerizing new work of art.

From the very beginning, we instantly transcend into the depths of the ocean with “Citadel” to which we ride along with the natural ebb and flow of these euphoric forces. We can confirm that Atlantis does exist because Lucas sheds light on the mythical underwater city. As we continue floating along the celestial frequency of ethereal sound waves, we eventually come to the surface to take a deep breath of fresh air with “At Dawn”. Before we know it, we’re back beneath the icy cold water, traveling with the effortless current into a kaleidoscope of beautiful colors in “Turqouise”.

Instinct is out now on Los Angeles’ very own Next Wave Records – the first free record label out to promote good music and share it to the world without a price to pay. We think Lucas made the perfect choice in teaming up with them because who doesn’t love free tunes? Crazy people, we tell you.

Prelude (Original Mix)

It’s about that time the late night ninjas take over for all of you night owls. While some of you might be getting ready for bed, others might be just now settling in to their weekly Wednesday night turn up; we have the perfect tune from French producer, Michael Calfan, that will undoubtedly keep you up until the sun starts to make its way up onto the horizon. “Prelude” is full of epic piano stabs, soulfully chopped vocals, and a bitchin’ progressive house resonance that helps reassure us that this genre is well on its way to the very top. Michael Calfan is out to restore some hope for the traditional House productions as well infuse it with modern techniques to give us a whole new refreshing take on dance music. It may be almost midnight on our end, but we can’t seem to fight the urge to wiggle our way around the house in our pajamas. If you dig this phenomenal show stopper from Calfan, make sure to groove on down to Beatport and pick this baby up for your own pleasure.

[Funky] Johnny Stimson – Obsession

Johnny Stimson
OBSESSION

With the temperature steadily driving us to the brink of insanity, we have come to a point where we don’t think Summer has had its way with us. Instead, it’s radiating 3 months worth of mediocre heat all into week long bouts of pure hell. As we sluggishly drag our helpless body’s out of this sizzling sauna and into a place where we don’t sweat from merely breathing, we decided to take a pit stop along the way with Johnny Stimson. Sending us into a retrograde funk with his newest original, “Obsession”, Stimson swoons us in with this infatuating production and gets us all a little drunk on love to the point where even Beyonce can’t keep up.

With a groovy synth progression, some funky guitar riffs, all topped off with some highly intoxicating lyrics, “Obsession” guides us to a place where drinking tequila in a bikini at 5 o’clock in the evening is socially acceptable. As we pour up another round of Jose Cuervo to drown out the heat, we ask that you please go pack a bag for overnight because you’re about to take a trip back into some serious lovey dovey feels. If this isn’t on repeat for the rest of your night, then you obviously need to re-evaluate your Hump Day rituals. With that being said, we’re going to go back to obsessing over Johnny Stimson and his soulful voice and fiery red hair.

RAC
Cheap Sunglasses ft. Matthew Koma (Two Friends Remix)

After spending all morning stuck indoors aimlessly studying for some exam, we were bound to put the books down and cruise through Soundcloud to see what the latest was. We went through a few tunes but nothing really popped for us until we stumbled across the names RAC, Matthew Koma, and Two Friends. Being the RAC supporters that we are, we couldn’t help but get all bubbly when we first heard this remix. The Los Angeles duo, Two Friends, are notorious for putting two and two together to produce double the amount of heat in all that they touch and today they just gave us auditory proof that they know how to make us all feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

During our Soundcloud listening session, we happened to come across a freshly uploaded remix from the Two Friends of RAC’s sensational Summer tune, “Cheap Sunglasses” featuring one of dance musics most well-rounded vocalists in today’s day in age, Matthew Koma. Filled with uplifting progressive elements,  a tropical percussive flow, and a fist-pumping breakdown to get you up on your feet, the Two Friends took this original RAC piece of work and turned into a symphony enriched with enough Vitamin D to make your heart burst rays of sunshine. Take the Summer vibes with you for the remainder of the week because we don’t see this one escaping the repeat button any time soon. Get your copy on iTunes today!
