You know it’s Summer when the livin’ is easy and the quality of music exceeds all other expectations. Matt Dash and Mike Bugout just blew our minds with one of the most incredible bootlegs of a Tiesto classic, “Ten Seconds Before Sunrise”. The duo combined forces and took this pivotal song in dance music and turned it into a mainstage anthem designed perfectly for every festival around the world.

With a trance-like intro and emotive build-up, one would think that these two would maintain that particular vibe, however, that is the exact opposite of what they did with this bootleg. As soon as you reach the breakdown your mind is completely blown and your feet automatically do what they were made to do (obviously dance). The old-school house style bassline combined with the futuristic and earthy synths make us feel as if we are in that delirious state of mind just ten seconds before sunrise. This is such a fantastic rendition of a Throwback Thursday classic that we just can’t even right now. We’re pretty much sitting here wondering why Tiesto didn’t play this during his set at EDC?! 2014 must be the year of the sax and Sam Feldt just gave us more the reason to love the instrument even more with his melodic house rendition of Sander Van Doorn & Firebeatz’ electro house banger, “Guitar”. The Amsterdam producer took the guitar melody from the original and completely transformed this track into one of the most tropical feel good songs of the Summer.

Starting us off with a congo bassline and groovy saxophone melody to get us up and moving, Sam Feldt takes these progressive elements and intricately fuses them together in the most beautiful way possible. The natural atmospheric resonance of this remix is unlike anything we’ve heard in a long time. In all honesty, there isn’t too much on the internet that can beat this right now, so do yourself a favor and grab your free download and keep this one on repeat for the rest of the day.

Firepower Records is back ninjas, and this time they’ve sent us the melodic wonders of DnB/Dubstep phenomenon, Fox Stevenson. With his new EP, Throwdown, set to release later this month, Fox Stevenson and his team have been preparing us for the unforseen internet takeover by teasing us with individual song releases. We here at TMN were asked so kindly to premiere his newest track, “Manage”, and without any hestitation we accepted the offer because it’s FOX STEVENSON.

Normally when we receive something from Firepower Records, we tend to over exaggerate the use of post-apocalyptic terminology because the label and their artists tend to make us go completely mental. Today is a bit different because Fox Stevenson’s music does not really fall into the category of “death” and “annihilation” but rather in the category of “heavy-mental-cute-step” – and yes, heavy-mental-cute-step is an actual genre as of right now.

Known for using his own vocals in his productions, Fox Stevenson has done it yet again with his new single, “Manage”. Filled with a heaping load of piercing snares, melodic synths, and insane vocals, “Manage” is the perfect DnB track that will make your heart explode unicorns and rainbows. After listening to this track 60 times through, we experienced the ultimate case of cognitive dissonance – our minds were telling us to process these conflicting sound frequencies but all we were able to do was dance our asses off instead.

Fox Stevenson continues to impress us all with his eclecticism in his productions; whether it be dark and heavy or cute and poppy, he knows how to infuse all aspects of music and make us all feel some type of way. Prepare for the ultimate heavy-mental-cute-step track of the summer and keep your eyes peeled on Fox Stevenson’s upcoming EP, Throwdown, out later this month on Firepower Records.

At just 18 years old, Felix Jaehn has already marketed himself as someone to keep an eye on. With an impressive track record behind him, Felix continues to set the bar for both veteran and rookie house producers in todays game. After a successful run with his latest release, “Shine”, we here TMN fell in love with Felix’s style of production and have been anxiously awaiting his internet takeover. Well, the wait is finally over, ninjas, because today we are happy to share his newest release and it’s one helluva track.

Just moments ago, Felix Jaehn dropped a tropical rendition of Chaka Khan’s famous song, “Ain’t Nobody” which features the lovely vocals of Jasmine Thompson. We all are familiar with “Ain’t Nobody” considering it’s a timeless classic, however, the combination of Felix’s tropical-esque vibes and Jasmine Thompson’s dreamy voice makes this song sound like it is an entirely original piece in and of itself. We are very impressed with Felix and his music and we cannot wait to see what this melodic house hot-throb has in store for us in the future. Last month, Cazzette released a stunning original track, “Sleepless ft. The High”, and took over the internet entirely. Since then, artists from all over the spectrum have put their unique spin on this track and have showed us a high level of differentiation within the realm of dance music.

After hearing such eclecticism in these productions, we have been searching for that one remix of “Sleepless” to give us an entirely different feel; something that would make us stop dead in our tracks and re-think everything we know about the purpose of music and its value. Well ninjas, today we have found that special something for all of you and we think it’s pretty damn neat.

While casually perusing the lovely world of Soundcloud, we stumbled across one of the most infectious acoustic renditions of “Sleepless” to date. There is something truly magical when people take a dance track and bring us all on a more intimate level with merely just the strum of a guitar – and that is exactly what Prinston did. Honing down on the natural elements found in the original chord progressions, Prinston decided to place much emphasis on the vocal and lyrical value in this track and has given us all something to truly appreciate on a much more emotive scale.

It is always refreshing to hear something new in dance music and we feel that Prinston has earned our respect with this unforgettable rendition of “Sleepless”. Make sure to check out the other songs in the Cazzette remix pack and see what other artists are turning this timeless song into.

It seems that people in the dance music world have been looking for new ways to bring in new talent from all around the world. With an ubiquitous amount of hidden creativity floating around us, it has become difficult for producers to showcase their artistry due in part to the high saturation of music within this industry. Luckily, people are starting to shift into the mindset where we need to start thinking of new platforms to give producers the opportunity to share their music and expose themselves. With an increase in the number of remix contests flooding the blogosphere world, we have officially reached a revolutionary point where we can finally unveil these artists based on the combination of both popular vote and process of elimination.

Just recently, Beatport hosted a remix contest of, “Gold Skies” by Sander Van Doorn, Martin Garrix, DVBBS, and vocalist, Aleesia. With submissions pouring in from all around, LA based producer, SAY MY NAME, decided to enter the contest by submitting a spine-tingling chill trap rendition of this song and completely blew the competition away. SAY MY NAME took this commercial track and threw in a heaping dose of 808’s, trippy high hats, and enough bass to give us those feel good vibes that are ideal enough for those warm summer night drives. Whether this remix wins the contest or not, we think this track is pure gold.

SAY MY NAME has definitely become one of our new favorites here at TMN and we cannot wait to see what is in store for this artist. After hearing this impressive remix of “Gold Skies”, we can only hope he continues to further his productions in a similar direction. We’ll shut up and let you press play while you drown those Monday sorrows in your sea of pity.
