Bass Kleph feat Ron E Jones – Flashing Lights Remix EP

Australian jack-of-all-trades, Stu Tyson, aka Bass Kleph does not produce music. He creates experiences. His earliest gigs (even as ex-drummer in a hard rock band) demonstrated a special gift that many artists would kill to posses. Bass Kleph was able to pull in huge crowds, consistently, and give them exactly what they came in for: a fucking good time. And while a lot has happened since he began, producing some of the best dance bangers and reaching Beatport #1 countless of time, it is still important to point out this very fact because it is reflected in his music. Each song is not just made to be listened to, but deliberately crafted to consume both the body and the mind. When you hear a Bass Kleph track, you know you are in for a good time.

This, of course, brings us to his latest release “Flashing Lights”. This single ultimately exposes both the growth and maturity Stu has come as producer. With a silky smooth build up, in part due to vocalist with Ron E, “Flashing Lights” soon transforms into a modern dance floor anthem incorporating harmonic synths and a powerful stomping basslines.

Taking things one step further, Aussie producer Bobby Vena comes in to give the track a more progressive house feel, while Hot Creations’ Bubba executes a deep remix much calmer in nature.

Blackstreet – No Diggity (Boeboe’s 1k Likes Remix)

Lelystad/Amsterdam producer Boeboe has been dropping bass beats for well over a year now, but it is his most recent fascination with trap that has gotten us excited.

Celebrating his 1k likes on Facebook, Boeboe just released a tasty treat using the classic 1996 single ‘No Diggity’ by American R&B group Blackstreet and featuring Dr. Dre and Queen Pen. Let’s face it, trap, as with most genres, has gotten a bad rep. Many producers argue of its easiness to produce and quite frankly that Lil Jon-esque “WHAT?” vocal sample that’s been sprinkled on almost every trap track is getting annoying.

Yet Boeboe takes things one step further executing a seamless rendition between the original and the modernized trap sounds of today. From its thrilling introduction to they very last second, each and every loop is delicately crafted for maximum enjoyment. Please go and check out more of Boeboe on his soundcloud.

[Indie] The 1975 – Chocolate

Swaggering into the last chapter of their introductory trilogy of EPs, Manchester’s The 1975 have just unveiled “Chocolate”, the lead track from their forthcoming Music For Cars EP. Cut from the same cloth as their two acclaimed EPs, “Chocolate” is another towering guitar-pop anthem with an infectious chorus that’ll stay with you long after the single has played out.

Wanderhouse – Sugar

The delicacies of music are always more exposed the more you listen to it. And with each playback, the brilliance in the execution of every detailed sound from Wanderhouse, a new project from Marie Moreshead + Doctor Rosen Rosen, becomes all the more apparent. The formation of a more perfect union was first exemplified in their single “Use Me Up” released last year, which can only really be described as The Glitch Mob on Valium. The sensual vocals from Marie Moreshead that lend themselves to be elongated by the subtle trip/hop production of Doctor Rosen Rosen, make it a perfect musical cocktail to consume late into the evening.

This week Wanderhouse released ‘Sugar’, following the similar blueprint of its predecessors. The soft and warming instrumentals are yet again elevated by powerful and surreal vocals. Another profoundly harmonic release from the duo.

Last Lynx – Killing Switch (Sound Remedy Remix)

The beautifully crafted sounds of Sound Remedy are back. “Killing Switch” is another reason why 2012 was so great. Its laid back and relaxed vocals echoed calm and summer days of jazzy melodies by Stockholm indie band Last Lynx. While the original pulled many influences including both modern electro pop and 60’s organic pop, Sound Remedy’s rendition does much of the same but substituting it with elements of dubstep and trap.

This remix is all about bright and colorful sounds, dynamic bridges and experimentation, something Sound Remedy knows to well. The trap tease at the very end is just another sign of the maturity from this Los Angeles producer.
