[Dubstep] T-Mass – Away from Reality

Brand new track from upcoming producer, T-Mass, laying a solid foundation of smooth enlightning vocals and soft piano chords amidst a rotation of thrilling wobbles and longated melodies. ‘Away from Reality’ is much more of an emotional induced track than the next dubstep banger, and perhaps that is the very reason why we are enjoying it so much. The Santa Monica producer has been producing for a little over than a year and instead of taking on and remixes attractive popular tracks as well as a slew of quality originals. Nashville born Wick-It the Instagator has been no stranger to appearing on TMN since his eclecticism matches ours in many ways. Earlier this year we featured his metal/rock/dubstep remix fusing together wobbles with the iconic Motley Crue original ‘Shout at the Devil’. Today, Wick-It shows us a much more mellow side of his going full dub with a reggae blessed melody. The result is a completely warm and chill track to relax you for the coming winter.

Justice – We Are Your Friends (CHRIZZ LUVLY REMIX)

With a crazy amount of remixes of this song, it is easy to dust this off to the side. Yet Brazilian producer Chrizz Luvly has been able to inject enough electronic aggression to bring this classic back to life. It may not be the most original rendition but we have been impressed with Chrizz Luvly production ever since the release of his original track ‘Demon‘. You can go to his soundcloud to listen to all his recent remixes we strongly approve.

[Video] Sound City Official Trailer

If we posted every single PR email we received every day, we wouldn’t have a music blog. And yet as we go through all our emails, there are things that resonate with us musically, and personally. Sound City Studios, a two-building complex in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California, which houses sound stages, is most notable known for being one of the most prolific studios before the music scene went digital. Tom Petty, REO Speedwagon, Rage Against the Machine, Johnny Cash, Metallica and Neil Young are just a few that utilized the space to create some of the best albums in the world.

What is so interesting to us about this story is that even as we cover so much electronic music, music that anyone with a laptop can produce, there is still a sense of nostalgia for how music used to be produced, for natural unfiltered recordings. There is no doubt in our minds that technology and the very use of it has improved music and its discovery. But, as humans (and music junkies) trying to make a personal connection with the sounds we hear, there is something to be said for spontaneous unedited recordings, that much like a live show, increase our involvement between artist and fan.

Sound City, A Film by Dave Grohl will be out February 2013 via Roswell Films

FKJ – Lying Together (Jackson Breit Remix)

Straight out of Virginia Beach comes our most recent fascination. Up and coming artist Jackson Breit brings a new level of freshness with smooth (and almost Timberlake) voice while still combining an instrumentation that pulls influences from blues, hip/hop and even reggae. His most recent track, a remix from Parisian newcomer French Kiwi Juice has the perfect balance of genuine light hearted vocals with the glossy and funky background of the original track.

You can listen to this track (more than once if you are like us) bellow and make sure you check out his soundcloud here.
