Julian Maverick is providing us Yanks with one hell of a way to ease out of our Saturday morning hangovers, and he’s doing so all the way from Melbourne, Australia.
If you haven’t caught on to this chilled out, golden-voiced, budding artist just yet, don’t worry. With only seven releases to date, you’re getting on the train well before the masses, which inevitably will follow suit shortly.
“Move Magic” moves along with ease with a sultry, deep bassline, tribal-style percussion, and, of course, his completely enveloping vocals. Its laid-back vibes could easily be served for kicking back at home as you come back to reality, leading up to a big night out on the town later tonight, or celebrating one of those rare, warm, fall days we’re currently witnessing in the Mile High City right now.
Make sure to follow Julian on Facebook and SoundCloud to keep up on future releases, live shows, and general goings on.

When I first laid ears on “livelove,” I was instantly transported back to my mom’s old minivan, cycling through that iconic collection of Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Curtis Mayfield tapes over and over again while we went to and from school. There’s an undeniable connection there that I just can’t shake, not that I would ever want to.
This brand new, debut tune is coming your way from LA-based, singer-songwriter clayton, who’s bringing a fresh perspective on classic soul styling that he’s self-dubbed Soul Nostalgia. The evocative air surrounding it is hard to look past, considering the classic, clean guitar work, silky smooth vocals, and a bassline with just enough funk. In addition to the instrumentals, which are written and performed entirely by clayton himself, we also have a strong, positive sentiment in the lyrics that’s overwhelmingly welcome, especially given the current state of the world.
If you’re feeling this tune, make sure to follow clayton over on SoundCloud. His handle is appropriately named “claytonluvsu,” so he won’t be hard to find. If you do struggle, though, just click here, and show some love back.
Ninjas, it’s time to rally your dojo and come together for a very deserving cause. In August of 2016, Southern Louisiana received more than 6 trillion gallons of rainwater in less than one week. Considered a 500-year flood event, it is the largest natural disaster in the US since Superstorm Sandy. More than 100,000 homes have been destroyed, 13 are dead, and hundreds of thousands are impacted across 12 parishes in the region. Within days of flood waters rising, various artists, festival organizers, and music industry executives joined forces to organize music and concert experiences to raise awareness and deliver relief to this urgent cause.

There’s nothing quite like waking up on Friday morning. The sun is shining a little brighter, traffic seems to flow a little easier than usual, and no matter how much work you have lying in front of you, it’s not as daunting knowing that a few days of freedom are right around the bend. This particular Friday has another big, shiny layer added to it, though, as we bring you a first look and listen to this brand new tune from Newcastle six-piece High Tide 15:47.
Within seconds of pressing play, you’ll find yourself completely entranced, helplessly grinning, bobbing your head, and incessantly tapping you foot. These reactions are brought fourth by playful percussion-style vocal harmonies that follow along the beat, providing a lighthearted mood from the start. From there, reverb-drenched guitars come charging in, adding a perfect amount of energy. The cherry on top? Steven Gordon’s psychedelically-treated, hazy vocals, which should have you singing along in no time.
This may be the first time you’re hearing of the lads, but after experiencing support from acts like Primal Sream, Wolf Alice, Eagulls, and countless others, it won’t be long before you’re seeing their name pop up on the regular.
If you’re feeling what Steven Gordon (vocals, guitar), Dan Murray (guitar), Al Charnley (guitar), Nick Hodgson (bass), Gaz Murray (keys) and Cole Gilroy (drums) are laying down, make sure to head out today and pick up this gem on iTunes, or add it to your “Favorites” playlist on Spotify.

Destructo - 9/15
’Destructo & Wax Motif – Beatdown ft. Vanilla ACE’
Destructo kicks off his two-month Renegade Tour this week at our hometown purveyor of legendary evenings–Beta Nightclub. Before we head out tomorrow night, we have an exclusive sneak peek at an absolutely devastating, hard-as-hell, deep house remix of “Catching Plays.”
This official take comes via Bristol-based Will Clarke and it already has me reminiscing about my younger years, which often times were spent at any number of after hour venues. Utilizing the near horror-movie melody from the original, Clarke twists his interpretation up with a heavy, fuzzy bassline, modal harmonies, synthetic sonority, and effected shuffled hi-hats. Gone are the vocals from Pusha T and Starrah, but in a way that’s very appropriate for the style, and one that will probably find its way into a plethora of Halloween sets in a month and a half’s time.
If you want to catch Will Clarke live, we recommend heading over to his Facebook page to see where he’s at next. If you want to catch Destructo (and some choice friends) live, look no further. We have you covered, just below the YouTube player.
