Back in 2014, we fell in love with the powerful, emotive, and enchanting vocals of Canadian folk artist Matt Millz. His debut song, “Follow You Home” was premiered here on TMN, and we had it in our regular rotation for quite some time. Today, we’re seeing it reimagined into a lush soundscape that pairs perfectly with the original’s surreal and captivating vibe. And, we’re lucky enough to premiere it, as well.

This hauntingly beautiful composition comes by way of two remixers. The first, MELT, is a 19-year-old producer from Molde, Norway. The second, NYG, actually played a part in the original work, as a co-writer and co-producer. Together, these two crafted an artful homage to “Follow You Home,” complete with rich, textural atmosphere, delicate piano melody, and well-treated vocals. It works on every level, providing the perfect soundtrack to get you through the middle of your week.

Before there were music blogs, DJs collaborating with pop stars, and gigantic, sprawling festivals in every major city, this scene was quite different. The only time raves got their spotlight in the media was when they were being drug through the mud. You didn’t get a wristband shipped to your house in a fancy package, either. You had to wait months, if not years, to see your favorite artist come to town. When they did get booked, you would have to call a number on your ticket to see where the party was at, which, most of the time, was in the middle of nowhere.

Along with the scene itself, music has expectedly changed since then, but today’s premiere brings back feelings of youthful nostalgia from all the way back before this millennium. St. Louis-based Notaker is relatively new to the game, but he brings with him influences that go back well beyond his time. It hasn’t taken others long to notice, either, garnering label support from Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn Fire, Zero Three, and Jaytech’s Positronic.

It’s no secret that two of the most popular genres from the early days have fallen behind newer genres and subgenres, but “Feel The Rain” should reel some of those listeners back to trance’s enchanting allure. It does what most great trance songs do – evoke emotion. You can feel this track through every keystroke of the uplifting piano melody and each smooth rolling arc of the bassline, both of which are accentuated by calming atmospheric elements and echoing vocal samples. It’s truly a listening journey, and one that will assuredly help you through your work week.

Usually, we try to bring you a healthy amount of backstory on budding new artists. Today is not that day. We have absolutely nothing to share with you in regards to WEIRDO, other than that they’re brand new, wildly addictive, and a perfect addition to your upcoming warm weather playlists.

“Butter” is the first tune from this brand-spanking-new act, and it’s rife with an undeniably quirky charm. The synths and playful guitar work create a fun-loving soundscape, which perfectly carry lyrics that are all-too-easy to pick up. Trust us, you’ll be singing along after only a few listens through.

It’s Friday, which means I’m on the hunt for the perfect tunes to carry me through the rest of my work week, inevitably leading me into a few days of uninhibited bliss. Since I’m pretty sure you’re doing the same, I thought you might want to take a gander at this new tune from Marian Hill.

Dropping less than a day ago, this gorgeous, energizing, and highly addictive tune from Jeremy Lloyd (production/songwriting) and Samantha Gongol (vocals/songwriting) will leave you with that perfectly unencumbered feeling you’re looking for right now. Half piano ballad, half bass-heavy dance jam, the combination begs to soar out your open car windows. Go ahead and stick your hand out towards your side mirror and let it ride along to the percussion style vocal samples. They’re playfully pitched up and down to perfection, creating one hell of an addition to the already groovy beat. If anyone catches you in the midst of a car boogie session, they’ll only be jealous because you’re onto this tune before them.

As you probably already know, we’ve been hooking you up with free entry to Beta for over three years now. We know you’ve had some epic times, catching some of the most legendary talent EDM has to offer, and we’re on board to keep this thing going. It’s a pretty safe to assume that a good lot of you out there need a mid-week pick me up. The daily grind has started to wear down on you, leaving you with a bleak stare on your face as you look ahead into two more days until that pure bliss of weekend freedom. If you find yourself in that boat, this trio of Angelinos has just the thing to brighten your spirits.

WILD has seen tremendous success with only a handful of tracks, racking up hundreds of thousands of plays across SoundCloud and YouTube. It’s not hard to see why, given their instantly infectious nature brought forth by charming, anthemic indie rock stylings. Take “Back to You,” for example. Lead by layers of calculated finger picking, danceable bassline, memorable lyrics, and playful vocal harmonies, it latches on with ease, leaving you with the insatiable desire to dance around your desk. Don’t worry – we won’t judge you. Your co-workers might, though.
