[Indie] Tülpa – GNATS ft. BLANKTS

Tülpa
GNATS Ft. BLANKTS

Tülpa is an artist who I always look forward to hearing from. This guy has cultivated a sound unlike any other in the electronic music scene with his intuitive musicality and willingness to improvise a unique style. The hallmark of Tülpa’s work comes in his comforting, down to earth production that eloquently captures an air of relaxation.

The producer’s most recent work, a track titled “GNATS” featuring warm vocals from BLANKTS, demonstrates his willingness to move away from the mainstream. Emotional, thought provoking production supports soft singing to create a mellow mood. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys taking time to chill out, add this one to your playlist ASAP.

[Electronic] Twelve Tales – Enchanted Forest

Twelve Tales
Enchanted Forest

Twelve Tales is an up ‘n coming, Florida-based production duo who’ve put out a slew of genre bending electronic tunes leading up to their debut project, Prelude EP, which is out now. Although I first discovered the duo through a recent collaboration with Twelve’Len, Twelve Tales’ most recent release shows that they can stand on their own while continuing to hone in on their distinct style. The Yung Joc-sampling “Enchanted Forest,” shared above, is a personal favorite but you can check out the whole project here

Dirty South
All of us (Eden Prince Remix)

You’ve probably heard the name Dirty South before, but maybe not the smaller artist Eden Prince. A remix of the Dirty South original, “All of us” was just dropped by this up-and-comer. We were impressed. Eden Prince seems to have an excellent handle on the intricacies of house music but doesn’t take us too far into the realm tech-house. Instead he walks the line with club sounds and pop elements. Check it out, we should be seeing more from Eden Prince soon.

Dub's Up ft. Problem & Whitney Phillips

This year we’ll be hearing a lot from the new project, Coolwater Set. They have an album in the works and based off of the two promotional songs they’ve released, it should make a big splash. Following their stellar debut single, “The Coast,” the group has released “Dub’s Up,” which we might like even more. Right from the start, Whitney Phillips comes in with a brilliant pop vocal melody and you know it will be a gem. Hear for yourself above and keep an eye out for The Coast EP, which is due out soon.

[Funk] Goldwash – Honest

Goldwash
Honest

Baltimore’s Gabe Acheson, AKA Goldwash, is an artist who’s been catching fire recently for his avant-garde blend of existential funk music. Throughout 2016 this guy has been polishing his silky smooth jazz stylings and the result is nothing but quality. After making waves on BBCR1 with future funk tracks such as “But U Won’t” and “Need To Hear,” the 21 year old musician is back with another hit, “Honest.”

The track’s a slow jam that sports the sweet vocals we’ve come to expect from the artist, alongside a groove inducing bass line that promises to have you feeling the funk. Seeing as this guy’s been gaining a ton of momentum as of late, definitely check the tune out and keep an eye on Goldwash going forward!

St. Patrick (PVRIS Cover)

I wasn’t familiar with the group PRVIS before I heard Crywolf‘s cover of  their single, “St. Patrick.” While I recommend checking out the original, Crywolf’s version stands on it’s own as a great listen. Using strong vocals, a variety of electronic subtleties and some outstanding house elements, Crywolf builds it up to a deep rhythmic breakdown that is quite satisfying. Thank you Crywolf not only for a great track but also for introducing some of us to a worthy new artist. Stream it here and enjoy.

[Indie] Memoryy – Turning The Page

Memoryy
Turning The Page

Memoryy is an artist who has consistently impressed with his stunning synth pop style. Although always paying homage to the 80’s this is an artist who’s not afraid to explore a sound of his own. His latest single “Turning The Page” showcases epic vocal range as he ruminates on a failed relationship. The track’s introduction sports gruff vocals accompanied by ever expanding synths that gradually build into an unstoppable chorus that demonstrates what this artist can really do.

Driving synths alongside vivacious vocals make for a track that I’m sure to keep coming back to. The tune is a taste of Memoryy’s upcoming Skeletons EP. Although there doesn’t yet seem to be a release date slated for the collection, judging by the music he’s released recently we’ve got our eyes pealed. Take a listen to “Turning The Page” and get to know Memoryy.
