Say My Name feat. Zyra (Jai Wolf Remix)[Counter Records]

Hopefully you haven’t grown tired of hearing the million Odesza‘s “Say My Name” remixes out there, but this one is right up there with the best ones. New York-based producer Jai Wolf recently released his take on the popular tune, and let’s just say it’s oh so juicy!

Ranges from melodic dubstep to chill trap, Jai Wolf cleans it up with a slower trap beat, while staying true to the original track by keeping its melody and Zyra’s vocals. It starts off with this deep bass which sets the stage for this banger remix, and when the drop comes, these unique oriental sounding synths take the spotlight. It’s one of those tunes that are so catchy that you can’t get enough of.

Museum Motel (Kid Moxie & The Gaslamp Killer)

Greek-born LA-based singer Elena Charbila, who goes by the name of Kid Moxie, is coming out with a much anticipated album titled 1888. Collaborating with talented producers like Angelo Badalamenti and The Gaslamp Killer, Kid Moxie is set to take over the electronic pop genre with such diversity in her bag of tricks.

Here we have a track titled “Museum Motel”, which is one of the two collaborations The Gaslamp Killer has contributed in producing. The Los Angeles-based DJ has been a renowned producer for his unpredictable and wide range of electronic style. Providing a classical and epic approach to this song, the two musicians put together something so catchy and jaw-dropping that we just can’t get enough of. From the heavy dependence of strings, classical style drum beats and a variety of brass and woodwind instruments, the unique sound is something right off of a movie soundtrack, or something of that caliber. The riff from the flute almost resembles and reminds us of the infamous Kill Bill featured “The Lonely Shepherd”. Kid Moxie’s muffled and sustained vocals mix together perfectly with the track by giving it an ominous and mysterious feel. There is no doubt that although her vocals are not the highlights of this track, the minimalist approach of her supporting vocals totally elevate the desired effect of the distinctive sound of distinctive tune.

With that said, make sure to check out Kid Moxie and The Gaslamp Killer, and stay tuned for the upcoming 1888 album that’s coming out on 12/2. Trust me, you do not want to miss that!

[Electronica] Odesza – Say My Name (Slow Magic Remix)

Say My Name (Slow Magic Remix)

Odesza‘s “Say My Name” has officially become one of the most remixed tunes ever since it came out alongside their In Return album. Everybody wants a piece of this delicious cake but not everyone gets a hold of its essence. Slow Magic‘s take on the song is probably, in our opinion, one of the best versions out there.

Featuring his very own father on the guitar solo, Slow Magic manages to put in his own twist to the already amazing collaboration. It starts off with his sweet signature piano chords, with the original chorus fading in the background. When the beat drops, it’s everything Slow Magic represents. The epic synths, the hardhitting drums and the killer guitar solo steal the spotlight for this remix while crediting the original tune. So much is put into the production of this rework that we can’t help but admire these talented musicians whose styles compliment each other so well. So go check it out above, give the other remixes from their ongoing competition a listen here, and tell us what you think!

Right Never Comes

Rhye is undoubtedly one of the most unique musical duos out there. With Milosh on the vocals and Robin Hannibal as the producer, the magical collaboration creates something so dreamy and tranquil that you could see yourself smooth sailing to the sound of Milosh’s voice. Many people often confuse Rhye’s vocals to belong to a female’s because of their latest album cover and their style of music, but it is truly amazing how the group is able to combine downtempo with soul and R&B by producing such masterpieces in that genre.

Here we have a new release titled “Right Never Comes,” which was written by Milosh for the sole purpose of their upcoming tour. The instrumentals were kept to a minimal, making Milosh’s harmonizing vocals the spotlight of the track. The clever use of strings in this tune will take you on a dreamy journey and leave you vibing as usual. We cannot tell you how excited we are to see where this duo takes their music to the next step. Sky is the limit for this creative international connection.
