[Hip-Hop Instrumental] Moods – Flashback

Moods
Flashback

We hadn’t really heard from Moods‘ after his one-hit wonder “Love Is Real” was featured on Majestic Casual a while back. His record label Darker Than Wax just released a compilation called 10K to showcase their talented roster and what they’re really about.

This is a special track off the album titled “Flashback.” The hip-hop producer definitely holds it down for all the Dutch hip-hop beatmakers with this one. There’s this killer bassline that drives the whole instrumental, and Moods throws in hip-hop voice samples to make things even more interesting. The synths come in to fill the spot, resembling something from Evil Needle. This beat is so incredibly dope that you just want to bust a freestyle right on the spot.

Make sure to check out the whole compilation on their SoundCloud here.

[Electronic] IAMNOBODI – Better Off

IAMNOBODI [Official]
Better Off

Of all the amazing artists under Soulection, IAMNOBODI is definitely one of our favorites. With chill vibes all around, he magically remixes Allen Stone‘s “Better Off This Time” and turns it into this neo-soul masterpiece.

Everyone knows how well Allen Stone can sing, but being able to incorporate smart beats and piano chords and flip it around 180 degrees is intriguing. The vocals are raised in pitch, almost resembling the voice of a female R&B singer. The bass drum line makes a killer beat and goes really well with the song, while the solos in between verses fill in the gaps and make this track incredibly entertaining.

We can’t tell you how excited we were to hear something new from IAMNOBODI. It’s almost like Christmas, feeding the satisfaction to our eardrums. Vibe with us and listen to this genius re-work. We can almost guarantee you will be amazed.

Something About Us (Daft Punk Cover)

Attempting to cover a Daft Punk classic is always risky and ballsy, but here we have Spazzkid‘s cover of “Something About Us” and he definitely killed it, keep it original and unique. The LA producer slows it down with this one, mixing tropical synths with electronic beats, and incorporating them nicely with the original vocal samples, building this awesome cover from scratch. It’s truly amazing how this cover differs from the Daft Punk classic in terms of distinctiveness and musical style. The breakdown towards the end comes in with a bang, sealing the deal with that melodic solo.

The key to a cover is to be creative and different but at the same time maintain credibility to the original, and Spazzkid manages to do just that. If you’re into instrumental electronica, go check out Spazzkid’s other stuff. They’re one of a kind and will leave you in awe.
