[Funk] IGB0- Gimme Gimme
Gimmie Gimmie
A fearless new act from New York by the name of INDIGO GREEN BROWN ORANGE BAND or IGBO is attacking the scene with bright style. Starting off a series of new releases leading up to their debut EP out June 9 is single ‘Gimme Gimme.’ With lead vocals courtesy of 10ille, this decorative slice surely spices things up. They’ve got an undeniable sound, perfect for all of my Jungle fans (satisfaction guaranteed). With recent gigs around New York at Pine Box Rock Shop, Meridian 23, and Baby’s All Right, IGBO was just warming up for major play in the 2nd half of 2015. Check out their elderly single ‘Chant‘ if you’re really getting down. We’ll continue to keep you updated.
[Pop] Trudy- All My Love
All My Love
Leeds’ most romantic outfit Trudy is running with their new single ‘All My Love.’ Full of hopeless lyrics written by the boys whist crying, Producer Tarek Musa of Spring King joined these bunch drunks in molding their enchanting product. Vocalist Oliver Taylor skates across his glassy guitars as we sway back and forth to the beat. The throwback vibe feels so refreshing. A cover of the Beach Boys single Help Me Rhonda is their only other release (video is a must-watch) to date. This record will stir the pot for a while, but we’re expecting more to eat soon. [Pop] MONAKR – Calling Out
Calling Out
A new project out of Chicago entitled MONAKR brings together Saam Hagshenas and Jonathan Marks of Hey Champ, two time Grammy-nominated vocalist Matthew Santos, and Dan Brunelle of Gemini Club. This major collaborative effort began just a few months ago with the release of ‘Diamond‘, set to be featured on their debut EP due June 16th. After following up with an impressive remix of RAC‘s ‘Cheap Sunglasses‘, the four-piece has now released the title-track, ‘Calling Out’ to the masses. It’s a balanced tune with a chorus sure to circulate. This supergroup will continue to test their limits and grow stronger with every passing stage. Be on the lookout for more details on their EP soon.
[Hip-Hop] Slap Nevada – Uncle Bubble
Uncle Bubble
Detroit artist Slap Nevada has ridden the waves of the Midwest music scene with his self-produced, heavy-hitting Hip-Hop records. Over the last few years he’s established himself as a serious vessel of energy and creativity, releasing music consistently under three different monikers. Slap has been in hibernation mode since Summer 2014, but he has assured us that this extended period of silence was only to further ensure his long-term success. He now unleashes a poppin’ new single entitled ‘Uncle Bubble’ to kick off the next leg. This has that ratchet-anthem feel sure to draw an interesting crowd. His Soundcloud is full of glam tunes for your enjoyment including his latest original ‘Died In Your Arms‘. Head over to iTunes and purchase ‘Uncle Bubble‘.
[Smooth] Gosh Pith – Child
Child
Duo Gosh Pith resurfaces with a brand new single entitled ‘Child’. It feels like the perfect time for 69 to unleash their most vibrant tune yet as the Spring season in Detroit just begins to bloom. ‘Child’ certainly feels like a dream, but it also carries a set conscious lyrics filled with comforting reminders. This song is a reward to all of us for simply living and learning everyday. Gosh Pith continues to elevate an already impressive collection with this brand new piece to follow up the Jonah Baseball remix of ‘Smoke Bellow‘. It serves as just their fifth original release to date, but they’ve promised major releases shortly. Stay tuned.
[Pop] Swim Deep- Hotel California
Hotel California
After selling out their first UK tour in almost two years, Swim Deep continues to roll now with new music. ‘Hotel California’ is the b-side to recent single ‘To My Brother‘, soon to be available digitally and on 7” via Chess Club Records. Spinning for nearly five and a half minutes, this new tune strengthens with time. It will be an excellent addition to their live set with its intricate structure and euphoric chorus. Swim Deep has taken their sound to an exciting level with these new releases. Both were recorded at London’s The Church studios under the guidance of Dreamtrak and mixed by David Wrench (Caribou, FKA Twigs, Kate Tempest). Expect a lot of attention on this five piece in next few months as they seriously impress here.
