[Hip-Hop] Logic – My Chain (Prod. 6ix)

Fresh off a 25-city tour, Logic took to Twitter to drop off his latest offering. Being lucky enough to catch his set in his home state of Maryland, which went on for 2 hours non stop, I can assure you that Logic delivers as much on stage as he does with his studio releases. And this is no exception. RattPack in house producer 6ix starts the song off with a symphony of sampling before easing into a dope, chill beat that rests perfectly under Logic’s raw lyricism. Carrying his usual armory of quick flows combined with clever hooks and absolute realism, the Maryland-based artist really settles in with the beat to make this a personal journey for the listener.

“My Chain” is Logic’s first release since his colossal mixtape Young Sinatra : Undeniable and an exciting preview of what is to come from this young talent

[Electro] Madeon – Finale (Dillon Francis Remix)

Dillon Francis just turns the world on its end every chance he gets: from his habit of replacing cat faces with his face, putting his face on other people’s faces, but most importantly, his habit of producing songs to the most epic of degrees. Taking the young Frenchman’s already impressive track, “Finale,” then throwing on his usual flavor of unrelenting pace. The combination of the original containing a strong electro feel then adding on Dillon’s taste for giving any and every track a hefty dose of chest pounding beef really turns this tune on its head. The song will be avaliable to download on beatport August 16th.

[NEW] Mumford & Sons – I Will Wait (Video)

As we all very impatiently wait for Babel, Mumford & Sons second album, a gift is given to us called “I Will Wait.” And what a gift it is. The English folk band sends the listener along a storm of folk/bluegrass that builds until that haunting voice of Marcus Mumford strides in. His amazing voice is then surrounded with soulful banjos, palm muted acoustics, and a gorgeous piano that gives this song the true Mumford & Sons sonic signature. If this is any indication of what Babel is going to sound like, Mumford & Song will again shake the world like they did with their first ablum, Sigh No More.

In the video, they show a continous shot of a long road trip that culminates when the words “Road To Red Rocks” appear on the screen. The band is currently on a US tour that will end in already sold-out back-to-back concerts at Red Rocks Amphitheater in the Ninja home state of Colorado. Check out their tour dates here to see if any of the only 4 cities still with tickets remaining are near you. You can pre-order your CD or vinyl verison of the album on their website here.

Babel will be released on September 24th.

[Electro House] Zedd ft. Matthew Koma – Spectrum (Congorock Remix)

The progressive house anthem that Zedd laid out for the world to hear recently is just more proof of why he is one of the true rising producers right now. Upon hearing this song, though, the Los Angeles producer Congorock just decided it didn’t have enough debauchery going on, so Rocco Rampino, the man behind Congorock, threw in a little dash of his typical in-your-face flair. I say a little dash because he did an amazing job of just complimenting the track on this remix — not wreaking total havoc, but still giving the listener a fine amount of world rocking.

Saturating every synth he could get his hands on, this song takes on a very satisfying amount of raw electro beef. Compared to his most recent releases, “Agarta” and “Ivory”, which we have shown you on this site, this “Spectrum” remix shows Congorock taking a different approach than one would come to expect. While he hasn’t smashed any speakers in the making of this rework, it hardly means his signature power and energy have been left on his computer for the next project. It’ll still get you uncontrollably breaking out your dance moves. Snag the whole Spectrum EP, featuring this remix and others by Monsta, A-Trak and more, off Beatport here.

[Folk] Listener – Wooden Heart

In the middle of an empty room sits two chairs. As you go to sit in one the other is filled by Dan Smith, half of the duo that makes up Listener. Music starts playing then the Atlanta native Dan Smith begins reciting off lyrics in spoken word no farther than 2 feet away from you. This spoken word, or as Listener likes to call it Lyrical Talk, track has the innate ability to bring that alone in the room facing the artist atmosphere that makes listening to this such a personal experience. No less incredible than the experience is the actual lyrical talent put into the words being spoken to you. The other Half of listener, the production connoisseur  hailing from Pahrump, NV is Christin Nelson. The accompanying video here is just the perfect fitting visual to the journey of this track. Listen to and buy more of their music on Listener’s bandcamp page.

[Electro House] Jordy Dazz & Mightyfools – Drum Fail

So what happens when you let three Dutchman loose on a track? No bar room joke here just a simple question with a simple answer you are about to discover. Take one build up, ram it straight into the backside of the another build up, let it continue to rise for a few moments then bring the all the decibels up and let it rip. Simple Dutch formula that makes for one hell of an impact.

Few songs can bring so much intensity as to make me feel like I am back at the 16 hour long festival I attended, known as Starscape Festival, while just sitting in my computer chair listening through half turned up little logitech speakers. With a bulging steady beat bass and lack of volume control I’d say this track will not be going away anytime soon.

Grab the track here on beatport.
