[Chill] GoldLink – When I Die (Alex Young + Jonah Baseball Version)

GoldLink
When I Die (Alex Young + Jonah Baseball Version)

GoldLink is the fastest rising rapper of 2014, period. Since The God Complex dropped in April, the DMV-raised hip hop artist has been all across the country playing shows and festivals, teaming up with the Soulection collective, and more. He has already collaborated with Lakim and Sango so he is no stranger at all to futuristic garage productions, but Alex Young and Jonah Baseball decided to take it one step further and bring the vibes to the McCallaman production of “When I Die.” It’s got an infectious energy to it that even non-hip-hop heads can appreciate. Alex Young is already quite established as a producer, however I urge you to definitely take Jonah Baseball’s catalogue for a spin if you aren’t familiar. And if you want to hear more from GoldLink, you can download his massively successful debut tape The God Complex here!

[Pop] Moon Holiday – Rid U

Moon Holiday
Rid U

You may not know the name, but you’ve definitely her voice before. Moon Holiday is Australia’s fastest rising starlet and her productions are starting to pick up steam in the land down under. She is most notably known for cowriting and singing on Flume’s smash hit “Insane,” however her solo endeavors are easily laudable as well. Her debut EP was sensational and now she brings us “Rid U”, the first single for her follow up project entitled “Second Life.” Over a dark beat perfect for late night vibing, Ward brings a haunting, almost ethereal performance that’s sure to get you hooked on the up-and-coming vocalist.

[Pop] Ryn Weaver – Promises

Promises

Believe you me, Ryn Weaver is on next. The 21 year old took over the blogosphere a month ago with “Octahate“, a debut single that was later revealed to be produced by Benny Blanco, Cashmere Cat, and Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos while being vaulted into the spotlight by Charli XCX. She returns today with “Promises”, a warm and upbeat smash hit that should carry you through the rest of summer. I cannot stress enough how big this starlet will be in just a matter of months, so be sure to give her a listen now and join the hypetrain.

[R&B/Soul] Reva Devito – babesquad

Reva DeVito
babesquad

There is perhaps nothing more sultry on this Earth than a girl with a genuine talent in music. We of course carry affections for the popstars that dominate our radio and the indie starlets abroad, however it is becoming rarer than than ever to find a girl with soul, both on the inside and outside. The geniuses over at HW&W have however, and she’s a national treasure worth sharing with you today. Hailing from the soulful Rose City of Portland, Oregon, Reva Devito is truly the entire package: looks, attitude, and most importantly talent. She has linked up with some solid producers in the past (most notably Kaytranada), however she recruits the talents of the legendary Com Truise for “babesquad”. Over a simple soulful beat, Devito brings us a performance that would make Erykah Badu jealous and hopefully it will enchant your ears as much as it did mine. So glad to join the Ninja team, be on the lookout for much more quality sound selections to come!
