[Dirty/Electro] Tittsworth – 911 (Dillon Francis Remix)

Washington DC producer Jesse Tittsworth has had quite the year getting praise from Billboard, BPM, and URB Magazine as one of 2010’s DJs to watch out for. His debut album “12 Steps,” released by Dominique Keegan and Stretch Armstrong (the man responsible for bringing you The Wu Tang Clan) is noted by Yahoo! Music to be contender for party album of the year. Making a signature sound for himself and the DC dance scene, he recently finished touring with Good Vibrations festival, performing alongside A-Trak, Kid Sister and Jackbeats.

Dillon Francis took a stab at Tittsworth’s track “911” to create what can only be described as Dirty Filthy Hard Loud Raunchy Crunky
Dub-House. Turn speakers up to 11 for this one and let Francis’ remix of this track just take you on another level.

[Electro] Laidback Luke ft. Jonathan Mendelsohn“Till Tonight (MSTRKRFT Remix)

World renowned DJ Laidback Luke gets remixed and reworked by Canada’s MSTRKRFT in this big room banger remix of “Till Tonight” MSTRKRFT bring a lot more energy to this track than the original Laidback Luke set forth, adding their hard htting synth sound they have become known for in remixes they have done for Keri Hilson, New Young Ponty Club and a personal fave, Metric’s “Monster Hospital.”

As the track instructs you to do…’count down till midnight’ and let the buildup hit you hard at around the 3:30 mark.

[Dada Life Remixes] Tim Berg – Alcoholic + Regi & Kaya Jones – Take It Off

Call it what you wanna call it I’m a fuckin’ alcoholic! Fun to yell at a party (even if you’re the only one doing so). Swedish house DJ/producer Tim Berg recently released his own interpretation of the tag line. Though the original is slightly reminiscent (and not in a bad way) of Funkagenda’s “What The Fuck,” Swedish duo Dada Life, definitely pumped some of their signature energy into this track.
Probably what they think this song would sound like to someone who is, well…DRUNK. Final product: Something full of bass with a big room vibe, perfect to throw your hands up and bob your head to.

Perfect to also shake a few beers to and spray the crowd with…just don’t get none on my carpet.

Dada Life’s latest EP, “Cookies With A Smile” is out on Big & Dirty Records.

[New] Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner – Animal Rights

Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner – Animal Rights

’Deadmau5 & Wolfgang Gartner – Animal Rights’

It is without a doubt that popularity and relevance of electronic music in pop music/culture is on the rise like yeast. With so many DJs of recent yesteryear starting to break into Top 40 pop music, producing tracks for artists like The Black Eyed Peas, Kelis, Madonna, Kelly Rowland, it is without a doubt that Deadmau5’s time to shine is now with his recent booking as the 2010 VMA House Act. Just look at what MTV has done for the fist pump!

Ultra’s Deadmau5 has not been a stranger to anyone who is a fan of electronic music as he has well made a name for himself since 2005. Releasing tracks that are timeless to any reasonably used pair of dancing shoes such as Ghost’s N Stuff, I Remember, Hi Friend and countless others while sporting a signature look that is familiar to most, he has definitely made his mark of being one of today’s most prominent and respected DJs.

But what is next…? What is next for Deadmau5 and who is the hot new producer that everyone will soon want to get their hands on? Could a recent collaboration between Deadmau5 (real name Joel Zimmerman) and California’s electro-house producer Wolfgang Gartner be a sign of something to look out for? He’s held the recent top spot on Beatport’s dance music charts with his UK hit “Conscindo,” and his recent collaboration with Deadmau5 titled “Animal Rights” leaves you feeling like you just got a slight taste of what is to come. These two working well together definitely shows in producing a track that is fun, just the right length, and a must add to any ‘night on the town’ playlist. A definite club banger that you will more than likely hear out and about on dancefloors in the coming weeks, this song perfectly harmonizes both artists with Deadmau5’s bass/banger qualities and Wolfgang’s funk and ability to create lyrics with beats and not words. It’s more so a duet as opposed to a collaboration.

Long live Wolfmau5!

[Fresh] Does It Offend You, Yeah? – We Are The Dead (Error Operator Remix)

The four man band known as Does It Offend You, Yeah? hail out of the UK (London specifically) and have made a dent stateside on the electro/rock scene since their debut album came out in 2008 via EMI. Probably one of the more under-rated acts to come out of the last part of the decade, they are known for their high energy at shows and lyrics/track names with quirks and silliness at times (see “Attack Of The 60 ft. Lesbian Octopus”). Their sound, which can be compared to the likes of The Bravery, The Faint, LCD Soundsystem, Friendly Fires and The Black Kids with their hard hitting synths and often heavy (but never offensive) drumming just screams to be remixed and has been over the past two years by the likes of Station X, Cold Blank and Fear Of Tigers to name a few.

The Error Operator Remix of their latest single” We Are The Dead,” (which was released for free to their fans via doesitoffendyou.com last week) off their new upcoming album takes a different remix approach as opposed to what has been done by the likes of remixers/producers before them. Deconstructing the song by making it a lot more somber than the original gives this song a whole new feel. Whereas the original starts slow and stays high energy with their signature hard drums and synth throughout the last 3 minutes of the track, the remix maintains a more laid back vibe than the original. The addition of the downtempo beat gives this song a more of a chill and haunting vibe without completely overworking the song.

The haunting sound the remix gives the track works perfect for the title…We Are The Dead…
