[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #48

Weekends aren’t always for raging, and sometimes it’s just a chill night with friends that makes for the perfect result. But all nights need music, and we’ve taken all the guesswork out of that decision with a playlist to get your night going in all the right ways.

Nothing beats good soulful sounds, and French group Synapson have made that a point of difference into everything they deliver. Our first two features this week are two examples of just that, bringing funky guitar and groovy basslines into two stellar remixes. It’s a special thing when great vocals are taken to another level with the right treatment, and this group can certainly do no wrong. With that in mind, you would have to bring something exceptional to the table to tackle the vocals of Robin Thicke, but Fool’s Gold’s own Sammy Bananas more than proves he’s up to the task with a creative bootleg of ‘Feel Good’. The result is a classy transformation of the poppy original with a super smooth bassline and fantastic progression. Those chord stabs will have you seduced without even offering to buy you a drink first. Continuing the trend of great vocal remixes is UK producer Jackson Real, who works some similar magic with Fenech-Soler. The artist does a great job of switching up the pace throughout the track, but keeps those ambient pads a constant feature in this solid summer jam. But as far as summer sounds go, Le Crayon’s Give You Up EP was a must-listen for any fan, and while every tune on the release impressed, the remix from fellow Frenchman Darius was an absolute jaw-dropper. A tropical touch is always a winner in our books. But of course, it’s not all about vocals this week, and we have ended our playlist with a few insane instrumentals from Gramatik. He recently gifted his fanbase with a full stream of SB4, a collection of vintage beats and samples from his hiphop days, and there are plenty of chill gems throughout. We’re all for any direction the artist chooses to take his music, but it’s always good to get a taste of his incredible past work.

So if you’re planning a chill night with mates anytime soon, at least you know the music is already taken care of. Peace out.

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #47

Chill Dojo number 47 may seem a little smaller than the massive playlists from recent weeks, but that’s to be expected with the summer music kicking off with such a tremendous pace. It’s only the start of August, so rest-assured there’s plenty more summer to come, and we’re bringing you the best of the chill offerings around.

And starting off this selection is an uplifting remix of the stunning Ellie Goulding, courtesy of the ever-versatile At Dawn We Rage. Well-known for a harder brand of electronic music, the group will every so often explore their downtempo style, which makes for great dojo features. The buildup in this track could easily have taken the heavier bass-filled route as many Ellie Goulding remixes do, so it was pleasantly surprising to hear they opted for a restrained chill approach over an ‘insane drop’. No surprises what to expect with this next one though, because when you have the vocals of Miguel with Blackbird Blackbird on the remix, it’s bound to be soulful and sexy. The slower future style of sound is a different direction for the American producer though, but one that is definitely hot right now. Also a topic of sexiness and big things right now is AlunaGeorge, and Canada’s Pat Lok has certainly done his bit to bring that to another level with a blissful edit of ‘Outlines’. It’s groovy, vibe-intense goodness together with the voice of Aluna Francis, so what’s not to love? If that’s still not hot enough for your August, we’ve also got the latest re-worked version of Goldroom’s summer classic ‘Fifteen’, along with some fresh summer funk from Civilian in a way that only the French know how.

We’re still well and truly entrenched in our favorite time of the year, but we’ll never give up on those summertime feelings no matter what the calendar says. Peace out.

Summer lovin’ is definitely in the air this week with one of the sexiest sounding Chill Dojos ever assembled. It’ll bring pleasure to your ears however you choose to listen, so let’s get this good thing going.

Kicking off that feel-good vibe is Spanish producer Alizzz, who is creating those crazy future sounds to rival some of the best in the game right now. The two tracks featured below are off his latest EP Whoa!, and that will be your exact reaction after hearing the sweet 80’s style beats he has in store. But if if that’s not enough to blow your mind, following on is an incredible mix courtesy of DJ AA, blending the soulful cover from Alice Jemima with the glorious Bondax original, ‘All Inside’. It’s a match made in heaven, and ‘No Diggity’  like you’ve never heard it before. Ta-Ku is an artist also known for plenty of fresh vocal edits, and one of those is a gem from his recent EP, Re-Twerk Vol.II. No surprise which artist is at the centre of ‘Hey Justin Pt.II’, as it’s pretty clear that Ta-Ku has made a habit of making JT an even bigger attraction with his brand of sleek beats. Dojo favourite Lane 8 recently celebrated the anniversary of his first release with two stunning edits for his fans. It’s a beautiful thing when talented artists finally get their big break and the opportunity for their work to be heard. It’s even better for all of us who get the chance to hear and share it.

It’s all about sharing the love this week, from artists to their fans, and from us to all you ninjas. Peace out.

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #45

If all the recent contention surrounding the Beatport Top 100 has got you craving some new sounds, the Chill Dojo can promise you something fresh on a weekly basis. There are ton of emerging artists delivering something unique to satisfy your musical desires, as well as our dojo favourites who are constantly evolving their signature styles. So forget all the genre doom and gloom and just chill.

What better way to celebrate this musical diversity than with three new stunning tracks from French Kiwi Juice’s second EP, Time for a Change. It’s a very topical title indeed, and the three features here are the perfect display of this artist’s versatile sound incorporating soulful groove and funky beats. The opening piano chords are enough to know you’ll be hooked on this one. And while we’re talking versatile styles, Mr. Carmack is the definition of just that, regularly doing the rounds both here and in the Trap Dojo. Well he’s back in the playlist this week thanks to two new tunes that let his soft side shine through. There’s no point even trying to assign a genre to these two, so just listen to them with the forewarning that they are at dangerously high levels of smooth. Oh that warning applies to the next Amerie remix as well, because French beatmaker Blacksoul has injected this classic RnB jam with incredible sounds that carry some serious vibes. It’s really hard to describe just how amazing this is, but damn those French know how to make a good thing better. Something that can’t be improved though is the beautiful voice of British songstress Laura Mvula. Nevertheless, UK producer MJ Cole has dabbled in some masterful vocal slicing and dicing to prove that they can sound just as beautiful chopped as they are whole. Finally, we couldn’t end this week’s edition without mentioning our excitement over the forthcoming Shook  debut album. The announcement came with a free release of featured title ‘Summer Heat’, which is signature Shook and of course, made for Summer.

You definitely won’t find two songs the same in this dojo. Variety is the spice of life after all. Peace out.

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #43

Chill Dojo #43, where have you been hiding? For any keen ninjas playing along at home, you may have thought we’d gone and jumped straight to #44 and skipped out on a key edition. For anyone who didn’t realize, congrats anyway because we have another playlist of great music to make up for the lack of chill last week. Everyone’s a winner! While getting lost in tunes like this, you can incorporate games like  온라인 카지노 into your chill vibes.

And what better prize than our first track from Danish musician Galimatias which is an absolute delight. There is certainly something going on in Scandinavia right now when you have artists like this and Norway’s Cashmere Cat producing some truly special sounds that are taking the world by storm. ‘Marshmallow Grove’ and ‘Lakeside Blu’ are just a few examples of this magic being brewed for our ears. And if we’re talking global sensations, Bondax have certainly been gaining attention far beyond their UK homeland, and their latest summer jam ‘Giving it All’ is certain to keep that momentum going. But it’s not all happening in Europe, and there’s plenty to enjoy from US artists as well. This sexy remix of ‘Her Favorite Song’ from Oliver is out to prove just that,  as well as another batch of ‘C O O L’ remixes with the release of Le Youth’s EP. Dojo favourite Lane 8 is our pick of the bunch, so if you’ve happened to miss all the other versions we’ve featured, make sure not to sleep on this one.  Now it’s been a while since we’ve ended the playlist with a fun little novelty track, and in late celebration of the 4th of July, we’ve got Giraffage’s hilarious remake of ‘Party in the USA’. As amusing as it is, it’s actually quite impressive how the quality production transforms the grating tone of the Miley Cyrus original into something so listenable.

But no matter where you hail from, we’re celebrating the amazing sounds coming from all corners of the globe. That’s what music is all about. Peace out.

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #44

As predicted the Summer tunes are in full swing and this dojo is reaping the rewards, and sharing them out of course. This edition is chock-full of beach-ready music and is best enjoyed under high volumes of sun. These sounds are so summer you’ll get a tan just by listening.

It’s a big call to make, but take one listen to pick number 1 this week and you’ll fully agree. Together with the ever-chill vocals of Patrick Baker, 5 Reasons has created something truly magical with this rework of a Bob Marley classic. He’s gone and done the unthinkable in making an original from the king of reggae sound even more laid-back. It’s quite a feat indeed, and the bright percussive flavour is definitely one of the keys to success. This one is a jam, hands down. Our next feature is one of those pieces of music to lose yourself in. Rising Australian duo Willow Beats have crafted a majestic track that floats along like a feather in the breeze, infused with gorgeous guitar and vocals that are just as soft. In unexplainable ways it seems to slow the flow of time and transport your imagination to a place of fantasy. It hasn’t taken long, but it seems we’re writing about dojo favourite Snakehips once again. It’s for good reason though, cos this remix of the enchanting BANKS is so smooth. The signature Snakehips production style is no stranger to these vocals, their forces having combined many times before, and hopefully it’s a meeting of sounds that will continue for a long time to come, because it’s a proven winner.  Also a verified success is the amazing ‘White Lies’ from We Sink. Well, get ready to fall in love with it all over again as we present NY producer Kruisemode’s take on the original, and it is pure vibes. A few weeks ago TMN introduced the eclectic sounds of Free n Losh, and they’ve made their way into the Chill dojo this week with a stunning remix of Swedish band Nervous Nellie. Seems everything this duo touch is gold.

It’s a good week when it’s a battle to choose the top features in the playlist, but there’s definitely plenty of gems spread all throughout. Peace out.

[MP3 Playlist] The Chill Dojo #42

Holidays are the best, well that is unless your social media feeds are full of pictures of everyone else taking them. For all those gearing up for the working week ahead instead of packing their suitcases,  this dojo’s got you covered with plenty of chill tunes for that little slice of the holidays with every listen.

We start with the latest from a favourite UK producer in Kidnap Kid, who enlists the sweet voice of Lotti for  a smooth house track that makes the perfect ingredient to any summer. Gorgeous piano stems and progression make this one to be played again and again, all season long. But no matter the temperature outside, this next feature will be sure to heat things up wherever it’s played. Leo Kalyan, a fresh UK artist, makes his first post on Soundcloud one to remember with a downright sexy refix of Duke Dumont’s  ‘Need U (100%)’. This has all the makings of a true babymaker, with the slowed vocals blended to perfection with the deep atmosphere and pure vibes. Just wait for the hums to kick in…magic. While the UK seems to be the hub for these amazing sounds right now, Canada’s Kaytranada is no stranger to some deep groove either, and makes the case for his home country with an infectious beat that is slick beyond words. And while we’re talking slick beats, Metic, a downtempo beatmaker from Hong Kong, brings us a super fun bootleg that couldn’t be more summer if it tried. A funky mix of Dre and Snoop with chilled guitar riffs makes for an interesting recipe, but boy does he pull it off with amazing results. The final mention goes to a track that was easily predicted for the dojo the instant the artists’ names were read, as the combination of Follow Me and Satin Jackets was always going to be a shoe-in. It’s disco, laid-back, and everything this dojo’s about.

So no matter what’s on the agenda for the week ahead, this edition is one dose of relaxation to enjoy whenever you want. Peace out.
