[Album Stream] Deptford Goth – Life After Defo

We previously featured UK-based artist Deptford Goth and his chilling, atmospheric electronica track “Union” (streaming above). Now, we’re letting you know that you can stream his entirely stunning debut album, Life After Defo, more than a week ahead of its release on March 19th via Merok Records. The LP includes aggressive, arresting moments, as well as the more timid, soft-spoken moments, but throughout one thing remains the same: its captivating ability to feel deeply.

[Indie Rock] Surfer Blood – Demon Dance

After releasing “Weird Shapes” not too long ago, Florida indie rockers Surfer Blood are back with another new fuzzy-pop tune called “Demon Dance”. Wailing vocals meet up with equally wailing guitar-driven melodies for a track that’ll make you remember just why you might’ve fallen in love with the band’s debut Astro Coast and subsequent EP Tarot Classics. You may detect some Weezer in there, too, which is never, ever a bad thing.

“Weird Shapes” and “Demon Dance” will appear on Surfer Blood’s forthcoming album, Pythons, due out June 11th.

[Stream] Lana Del Rey – Summertime Sadness (Ryan Hemsworth Remix) (Rip)

Between all of his remixes, when does Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth find the time for some shuteye? This week we get a sneak peek into his reworking of a TMN fave: “Summertime Sadness” by Ms. Lana Del Rey. The 1:49 preview is part of Kastle‘s mix for SSENSE, a free, hour-long collection that also includes JMSN, Cashmere Cat, and Miguel. Though it’s not the official audio version, Hemsworth doesn’t disappoint, and the “Summertime Sadness” rip is enough to dizzy us up and get us real antsy for the full tune.

[Electronica] Goldroom – Only You Can Show Me

LA’s Goldroom is no stranger to The Music Ninja, contributing awesome originals as well as welding excellent genre-spanning remixes of Atlas Genius, Alpine and Gigamesh.
