[Indie Pop] Still Corners – Heart of Fools

A few months ago we heard “Fireflies” from Tessa Murray & Greg Hughes, aka London’s pop duo Still Corners. The track was the A-side to their recently-released 7″. This week, we get to hear its companion piece, “Heart of Fools”. This B-side is much more toned down and almost lullaby-like, but it is just as enchanting and dreamy as their previous material. Murray’s vocals are especially worth noting; her phrases are like soft whispers that ever so soothingly caress the ear — it doesn’t even matter what she says, we’ll fall in love either way.

Lana Del Rey – Summertime Sadness (Cedric Gervais Remix)

Remember when LDR had all that media backlash last year? Thankfully, we’ve all moved on from that and are simply enjoying the music. I mean, if it wasn’t for her, we wouldn’t have this awesome remix from US producer Cedric Gervais (who actually just played Denver’s Beta Nightclub on Saturday). It’s a pretty flawless track, so I’ll just let you get to it:

[Electronica] Sir Sly – Gold

Back in August, Los Angeles’ Sir Sly shared their stellar, absolutely catchy track “Ghost” with the world. But just as quickly as they surfaced, the trio disappeared. They went on to remain quiet for the next few months…that is, until now. Their latest song, “Gold,” is slightly darker and more aggressive than the last offering, but their knack for electronically-driven pop melodies is still alive and well, tight as ever. The bridge, in particular, is pretty riveting and full of attitude. Listen in below and here’s to hoping we hear more from these guys this year!
