The Neighbourhood first cast their dark and moody spell over the music blogosphere back in January with the release of ‘Female Robbery’, a song that propelled the Californian five-piece straight into the spotlight. After an exciting start to 2012 there’s promise of an album on the horizon, but for now The Neighbourhood have just re-released an updated version their debut single that arrives coupled with the above dark and distinctive monochrome video.

[Folk] Osian Rhys – “Long Time Gone”
“Long Time Gone” is an intimate introduction to Wales’ shining new folk star Osian Rhys. A homespun, tangled web of delicate songwriting, Osian’s debut captures a raw honesty that is rarely found on records today. The single will be released on a series of limited edition 7″ records, backed with “A oes ‘na le (i oeri gwres fy nghalon),” an absorbing ode to forbidden love sung in Osian’s native Welsh language.
“Long Time Gone” is out on August 24th via Backwater Records.
Little Comets – Jennifer (acoustic)
With a new album on the horizon, Little Comets have taken some downtime in a local park and recorded a stripped down, acoustic performance of ‘Jennifer’ in the late evening sun. Originally released as the title track of their ‘Jennifer And Other Short Stories’, this acoustic version exudes the feeling of upbeat summer euphoria and looks set to be a sure-fire festival favourite.
Zebra and Snake – Empty Love Song
Picking up where their last ‘Money In Heaven’ single left off, Zebra and Snake’s new single ‘Empty Love Song’ is another slice of warm, evocative pop music. A definite highlight of their recently released ‘Healing Music’ album, this new single sees the Finnish duo at their brilliantly brooding best.

Rising British quartet Alt-J follow up the recent release of their acclaimed debut LP ‘An Awesome Wave’ with the news that fan favorite ‘Tessellate’ will be their next single.
