Tango In The Attic return to record stores with their sophomore album “Sellotape” on May 28th and if new single “Mona Lisa Overdrive” is anything to go by it’s going to be a noisier affair than their 2010 debut. Catchy and confident they now swagger with a more direct garage sound whilst still maintaining the afro-pop qualities of their previous endeavors.

The Walkmen – We Can’t Be Beat
“We Can’t Be Beat” serves as another reminder as to why we’re so excited for The Walkmen’s forthcoming sixth album “Heaven”. Building from a delicate, acoustic intro into a heart-warming crescendo, the spacious arrangement of “We Can’t Be Beat” allows Hamilton Leithauser’s vocals to take center stage and steal our hearts.
“Heaven” is out May 29th on Fat Possum
The Daydream Club – Neon Love Song (Part II)
“Ambience & power, power and grace” sing The Daydream Club on ‘Neon Love Song (Part II)’ … and their new single arrives with bags of all three. There’s a real sense of grandeur to this reworking of the song, as the Leicester based couple’s tender two part harmonies ride an immersive arrangement of piano and swirling strings.
‘Neon Love Song (Part II)’ drop on May 28th via The Daydream Club’s own Poco Poco label and comes backed with a haunting Centaurs remix, which you can download below.
Conner Youngblood – Proportions
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Conner Youngblood, the talented young musician who seemingly disappeared into the shadows following the release of his debut album earlier this year. Thankfully, he’s back, and has announced plans for a second album via the release of the debut single “Proportions.” The album, titled Sketches pt. 2, is set for release later this year — but beyond that we don’t know much more. What we do know is that if this single translates in any way to the overall feel of the upcoming album, it could end up being one of the best albums of the year from an up and comer.
“Proportions” is the first of a slew of singles that will be released throughout the year, and takes a more minimal approach than what we’re used to from Conner Youngblood. It’s soothing, ambient tone is simple and refreshing, and while it certainly maintains the airy feel we’ve come to love in Conner’s music — it also hints at something a bit different from him for the future.
[Folk] Father John Misty – Nancy From Now On (NSFW)
Former Fleet Foxes drummer, Josh Tillman has unveiled details of his new solo project Father John Misty and news of his forthcoming ‘Fear Fun’ album, which is slated for a May 1st release via Sub Pop.
‘Nancy From Now On’ is our first taste of the album and arrives with a slightly saucy video, that couples Father John Misty’s beautifully smooth folk rock with scenes of Josh being manhandled by a leather-clad dominatrix.

Mr Fogg – A Little Letting Go
“A Little Letting Go” is the second perfectly formed single to be lifted from Mr Fogg’s forthcoming sophomore album “Eleven”. As with his previous single “Stay Out Of The Sun”, Mr Fogg’s intimate vocals soar above a bed of delicate percussion and warm synthetic tones, delivering a striking preview of his new long-player.
“A Little Letting Go” drops officially via Kicking Ink/ Kompakt on May 28th but head over to Mr Fogg’s website to grab a free download of the MP3 now.
[Fresh] Jai Paul – Jasmine
Jai Paul, the elusive genius behind last year’s smash ‘BTSTU’, returns from the the shadows with a demo of ‘Jasmine’, the first new material we’ve heard from the UK singer-songwriter in nearly a year. There are no further release details yet but here’s to hoping that he doesn’t keep us waiting so long for another offering of soulful, warped pop.
