[Electro/Hip Hop] Vato Gonzalez – Badman Riddim (Jump) [feat. Foreign Beggars]

Vato Gonalez track has just been given a serious revamp by UK hip hop crew Foreign Beggars who won ‘Best New Act’ at the 2004 UK Hip Hop awards. The tune unleashes some beats of fury and the added vocals and cuts from Foreign Beggars keeps the house classic track just as addictive as the original. Radio 1 haven’t messed about and have already slammed this into their A Playlist and with so much energy behind beat, I’m finding my self get some serious crunk on.

The full EP is being released under Ministry Of Sound and features several good remixes, but I stumbled upon this belter by Drum & Bass producer Tru Fix & Milton Keynes based dubstep producer Thunderskank that is a worthy electro house fix for any addict.

[Electro] Fake Blood – Live @ Rockness (Essential Mix)

So last year I went to Rockness festival in Scotland, and honestly, it’s one of the most beautiful festivals around. Located at the northern tip of Britain near Inverness and overlooking the famous Loch Ness, the festival has grown each year and now attracts some of the biggest names in EDM.

BBC’s Radio 1 have their own tent at the festival and this year they aired Fake Blood‘s whole set, along with DJ Shadow, Simian Mobile Disco and Skrillex.

Fake Bloods’ set is full of absolute bangers and is perfect for getting you in that party mood.

[Electro Mix] Mustard Pimp – Catastrophe VIII

Mustard Pimp - Catastrophe Mixtape Series Vol 8

Wow. Mustard Pimp just do not stop. Their series of Catastrprophe mixes have been nothing short of brilliant and they’ve just dropped numero ocho! Featuring their new single ZHM along with plenty of jaw dropping filth – this mix tape will set any party off! Here are my favourites from the mix:

Mumbai Science – Lotus

’Mumbai Science – Lotus’

Erol Alkan recently dropped this track from Mumbai Science in his set and it went off! Coming from the hard hitting Lektroluv label that features G-Tronic and Sounds Of Stereo, Mubai Science have been getting a lot of love recently and rightly so!

Mustard Pimp feat. Jimmy Urine – Money Shot (Original Mix)

’Money Shot.mp3′

So the remix by Felix Luker was on the mix tape, but honestly the original is still my favourite, it just hits hard.

Neoteric & Wax Motif – Go Deep (Keith & Supabeatz Remix)

’Neoteric & Wax Motif – Go Deep (Keith & Supabeatz Remix)’

So Keith & Supabeatz have created a bass filled bomb track that at 1min 20 hit’s so hard my headphones just can’t take it… i think that means I need some better ones!

And finally – here’s the mix in full

[Electro/Pop] Tove Styrke – Million Pieces (Familjen Remix)

Tove Styrke – Million Pieces (Familjen Remix)

So I stumbled across this remix today which was originally by 19 year old Swedish artist Tove Styrke and then remixed by fellow Swede Familjen. For those outdoor BBQ’s or just to get you in a happy mood, it’s simply perfect and finding this gem literally made my day.

I’d previously never heard Tove Styrke, but on research I found out that not only is she incredibly good looking, but her music is actually not too bad either. Border-lining on electro-pop music, her sound is very similar to one of my favorite electro bands Chew Lips, but not quite as edgy and with a definite wider audience appeal. Think Ellie Goulding meets Bag Radiers on a hot sunny day!

This track was released back in 2010 but a quick google search showed that barely any blogs picked it up – making it an absolute pleasure to be able to present this awesome track to you!

[Funk/Pop] Jamiroquai – Smile

Jamiroquai - Smile

Presenting quite possibly one of my favourite & most under-rated artists of all time – Jamiroqui. Back in the 90’s he was at the forefront of the London based acid-funk movement and after a series of successful #1 albums & singles, he’s now released his 7th album Rock Dust Light Star.

Not featuring on the album though is new track ‘Smile‘ which just popped up on my Soundcloud. Containing all the classic elements that make up a ‘JK’ track like a smooth groove, the Clav keyboard, funk guitar and gentle vocals, ‘Smile’ has that instant like-ability appeal. What’s even better is that it’s a free download… we like.

[Electro] Skrillex – Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites Remixes | Kaskade | The Juggernaut

skrillex nice and sprites remixes

Skrillex has released his latest EP ‘More Monsters and Sprites’ and the whole blogging world has gone a bit nuts – but not as crazy as the producers out there who seem to be flocking to get a remix of the LA producers work.

At $18 on Beatport, the album isn’t for the fainthearted – but what’s encouraging is seeing Skrillex’s twitter & Facebook encouraging users to support him by paying the download cost, or if you can’t afford it to just “find it on a blog and get it”. Here’s a couple of remixes that feature on the EP that caught ‘The Ninja Eye’.

Kaskade‘s remix really steers clear of what you’d expect to hear in a Skrillex track, adding progressive sounds and avoiding any dirty drops. It’s really more Kaskade then Skrillex, but it’s definitely worth adding to your iTunes.

Just when you thought Skrillex sound couldn’t get more chopped up, along come Californian duo The Juggernaut with a pair of sharp scissors – determined to slice up the elements and slam it into a bad ass drum and bass back drop.

Finally, if you’re a fan of Skrillex, then here’s a track we found that you may well enjoy. Coming from Canadian producer Lazy Rich, it contains a lot of the ‘Skrillexy’ type sounds and is just as dirty. Enjoy this one:

[Heavy Drop Electro] Drivepilot – Ruthless EP

Drivepilot - Ruthless

So I thought Canadian producer Drivepilot had gone a bit quiet – when infact he’d been busy away creating monster 5 track EP that on first listen blew me away. Real name Nick Edwards, Drivepilot’s approach to music encorporates a really heavy influence of Rock mixed with dirty dubstep / breakbeat sounds that are dirtier then a pig in mud.

The EP’s title track ‘Ruthless’ is my favourite, with the break half way through taking me a bit by surprise, but I then find myself revelling in the dynamic it just created.

Being released under Traction Records, be careful who you show this EP to as it may just melt their face!
