[OUUSH! Electro] 4 Absolute Club Bangers – Afrojack & Guetta | GTronic | DJedjotronic | The Subs

Maybe it’s because I’ve had a bottle of stella, or maybe it’s because I love my electro – but I’ve found myself dancing around going crazy to the following tracks. Enjoy!

First up and fresh to me as of an hour ago is Dutch producer Nick van de Wall, aka Afrojack, who we posted only yesterday with his banging remix of The Wombats – Techno Fan! Yet here he is producing another quality dub mix of David Guetta‘s remix of Snoop Dogg’s “Sweat” … the guy is on FIRE! With the original song being produced by The Cataracs, ‘Sweat’ is quickly gaining an all star line up… whose next in line – Skrillex?

Second up is Belgian producer/DJ ‘GTronic‘ who you may remember from his absolute belter track ‘Sucker Punch‘. I got sent this track last week and it simply blew my headphones right off. So much bass! Being released on Lektroluv Records, Dance Machine will no doubt be making an appearance on a lot of DJ’s set lists.

Real name Jeremy Cottereau, Djedjotronic started his DJ/Producing career after meeting Popof. Together they released several collaborations and even toured together under the name Wee-Kids. Since then, the French producer has released more and more amazing tracks and is now under Boys Noize Records. This track has such a heavy beat and features South African rapper Spoek

Finally – we have the Belgian born 3 peice The Subs with their hefty little number ‘Don’t Stop‘. Like their friends GTronic, they’re also releasing this under Lektroluv Records and it’s a bit of a belter. Do check out their other tracks too on their SoundCloud as these guys have got a lot to offer!

[Electro] Look at Me Now (AC Slater Remix)

With such an amazing original, there’s no wonder there’s so many remixes out there, but this one from Brooklyn based AC Slater adds a really fresh off beat angle to the original. Slater states Hip-Hop is one of his main influences and going through his SoundCloud you can really see elements of the genre creep into both his remixes and his originals. The highlight of this track will always be hearing the legendary Busta Ryhmes do ‘his thang‘ and AC Slater’s beat make the rappers voice pop out even more.

[Electro] The Wombats -Techno Fan (Afrojack Remix)

The Wombats

With my dad being born in Livepool, I almost have duty to be biased towards new bands that come from there, The Wombats being such a band! Their new album ‘This Modern Glitch‘ see’s them introduce a lot more synth sounds, so that probably explains why they inlisted the skills of electro ‘A-Lister’ Afrojack to produce a pretty killer remix. Adding his classic bouncing synth sounds, the Dutch DJ seems to be churning out out hit after hit and here we see him, yet again…  producing another club banger!

Lady Gaga - WTF

“It’s Lady Gaga time!”. Oh no – i just said that! Well with this dirty remix ready for you I feel less of an idiot for opening with those words. Bringing a dirty bass line into Gaga’s amazing singing is German born Zedd who seems to save the best till last in this remix as whilst the track progresses – each drop becomes better and better, so well worth listening all the way through.

Note to small club DJ’s – next time you get a Gaga request, drop this to save your dignity 😉

[Indie] Friendly Fires – Hawaiian Air & Blue Cassette

So since it’s release on May 16th, I’ve been listening to the new Friendly Fires album ‘Pala‘ non stop and in a word (or 3!), I’m loving it! Hailing from St Albans (near London) – this is whole LP is exactly where I wanted friendly fires to go since their last self titled album. The LP see’s them build on the progressive experimental sounds we were introduced to but features tracks that expand into huge anthems with some classic builds and crescendo’s. In 2009 the band were shortlisted for the Mecury Prize award and since then, lead singer Ed Macfarlane’s vocals have never sounded so perfect in the mix of clattering guitars and off beat drums. I’d recommend reading over NME’s well constructed review here – and to get you in the mood, here are 2 of my favourite tracks… get your party on!

The Immigrant - Summer Of Love (She Said) (Angger Dimas Remix)

If you live in Europe, you’ll know that summer is well and truly here, and you’ll soon need an arsenal of banging summer anthems to prove your worthiness amongst your fellow ‘annoyingly tanned’ music peers. That’s where Angger Dimas comes in.

Remixing The Immigrant’sSummer Of Love’, the Indonesian producer has brought in some huge dirty dutch sounds to ensure you get that nod of summer anthem approval when you drop this at your next party. That’s what Tiesto just did… and it went OFF [video]

The actual EP from Australian producer The Immigrant has some equally amazing remixes on so I recommend glance over the ‘Summer Of Love (She Said)’ EP over on Beatport.

[Dubstep/Hip-hop] Notorious B.I.G. – Gimme The Loot (Superginger Dubstep Remix)

Remixes – the aim of which is to improve the original or to introduce a new sound. In the case of Nutorious B.I.G, many most would argue that you can’t improve on the original – so I’m not gonna make that claim! Instead, bringing a massive dubstep sound to the original, is Swedish 17 year old producer Superginger.

Adding some huge wobbles, gurgles, snare slaps and dirty attitude, what I like about this remix is that a lot of the scratching and breakdowns have been kept – creating that illusive bridge between hip-hop and dubstep! Like it? Well go ahead and check out Supergingers Soundcloud etc – the young producer has got skills!
