[Funky Electro] Short Circuit – Joypopp Remix + New EP

Today I was introduced to Short Circuit for the first time via Binary Records and I must admit I’m liking what I’m hearing. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Short Circuit’s style is definitely varied but after perusing through his Souncloud, I stumbled upon a cheeky remix of fellow Binary signed duo Joypopp. He’s taken their track ‘Volupté‘ and added a chunky pulsing beat and most importantly for any french electro sound – the prominent hand clap.

So his EP ‘Late Night Drive’ is coming out on Monday, May 23rd and after listening to the full EP it’s definitely one to pick up  The first single from the record, “How We Speak” should give you a nice preview of what’s to come.

[French Electro] Cosmonaut Grechko New EP ‘Alaska 2100’+ Blue Satellite Remix

After hitting us with an awesome remix of Ellie Goulding’s acoustic version of Heartbeats (link), Russian producer Cosmonaut Grechko has just released his new EP ‘Alaska 2100’ and yup… it’s bloody good. Whilst embracing the french electro sounds that have gained him countless Hype Machine hits and soundscloud recognition, Cosmonaut Grecko has also taken the opportunity to introduce a few new artists by showcasing their remixes. One such artist is Blue Satellite who’s a fresh producer from England. His remix of Grechko’s EP feature track ‘Singing’ shows how the two producers style really completement each other.

Grechko’s track Coloreye’ also hit the mark for me. With it’s indulgent melodies and perfect sounds – it’s one of those tracks I love listening to if I’m firing through loads of work.

[Dubstep] Kodomo – Decoder (WhiteNoise Remix)

Kodomo’s latest single Decoder has had a really good dubstep makeover. Taken from Kodomo’s  album “Frozen In Motion” – the delayed sweeping beats just get shoved to the side for a moment as 22-year-old Emanuel Bender, aka WhiteNoise, introduces himself into the mix. After only producing for 2 years, the dutch based producer has created an almost experimental dubstep sound as he incorporated a lot of the original space echoes sounds and offset them against his dirty synths!

Decoder isn’t the squeeling heavy bass drop that a lot of dubstep moshers crave – yet slam this on your MP3 player and no doubt you’ll get your head nod on.

[French Electro] Pyramid – Race

Consistency in producers is becoming more and more rare these days. One producer bucking that trend though is Pyramid who regularly pumps awesome tracks that just brighten up my day! After the success of his The Hall EP (iTunesJuno), the French producers latest offering is just as easy on the ear and just as playable! Keeping with his French electro style and sound, Race should whisk you away for 3min into a world of baguettes, frogs, garlic and all things en français! The track is available as a free download too (DL in soundcloud player) so slam it straight into your iTunes.

[Summer Anthem] Swedish House Mafia – Save The World Tonight (Original Mix)

Here it is – the much anticipated (non radio rip!) official release of the Swedish House Mafia summer anthem. There’s so much that’s been said about this track and it’s ALL over the blogs but finally the full MP3 has been released . Angello, Axwell and Ingrosso should rightly be anticipating a lot for this track and it’s guaranteed to get a LOT of radio airplay too.

Being released under EMI and featuring the vocals of Swedish singer John Martin, this track is going on every DJ’s list – fa sho!

[Moombahton!] Dillon Francis Remix – Look at me Now

look at me now

Oh no… Moombathon has waged war on my iTunes and is slowly invading all my hard electro playlists!! Dillon Francis is at the forefront of the movement (call him the Commander-In-Chief) and in my eyes the lad can do no wrong! He has a sneaky “ninja-fied” way of getting his tracks heard – by giving them all away free on his Facebook page.

His latest release is HUGE!! It’s a remix of Chris Brown‘s “Look At Me Now,” produced by DiploAfrojack and it’s honestly everything I wanted to hear from the LA Producer!

Need a second Moombathon fix? Well here’s one of my favourite tracks I only found recently when Annie Mac dropped it in one of her UStream sessions. Coming from Heartbreak & Munchi, this collab track is simply awesome; So much swagger and attitude!

[Boom Electro] Sound Of Stereo – Hurricane

After hearing the preview to this track back in March, I the played the waiting game for dirty duo of Sound Of Stereo to drop this track in full – then I may well have forgotten about it… until now!

Being released on the Lektroluv label and presenting one of the hardest drops I’ve heard in a while – Hurricane demands to be played on some big speakers or beefy headphones. Sound Of Stereo originally met Brussels, Belgium, and realising they had similar music tastes – Vincent & Jochen embarked on creating some of the heaviest bass lines around – and we’re glad they did!
