[Dirty Electro] Drivepilot – Money

Ooooh, some bouncy filth for you now. Nick Edwards, aka Drivepilot, has always pushing out a lot of awesome beats recently and this ‘Money‘ is definitely one of the best yet from the Canadian producer. Slamming a bassline, dirtier then pigs in mud, under the chopped up vocals of Notorious B.I.G Tupac gives me an urge to pull some serious bad ass (potentially illegal) moves whilst currently sat in Starbucks!! LOVE IT.

Following the success of his earlier track ‘Fuck Yeah‘, Drivepilot seems to be heading towards a pretty darn successful producing career, incorporating a big influence of heavy rock with the breakbeat sounds heard in mainstream dubstep. Enjoy!

[Chilled] Ellie Goulding – Heartbeats (Cosmonaut Grechko edit)

Reminiscent of a Radio 1 Live Lounge session, Russian electro producer Cosmonaut Grechko has taken the Ellie Goulding‘s track cover of Knife’s Heartbeat track and stripped it down to the sweet melody, a simple acoustic and some cheeky synth. Real name Victor Klyuchnikov, Cosmonaut Grechko continues to impress me with his varied approach to creating re-mixes and his SoundCloud page is a joy to flick though. We covered his brilliant Metric remix here and this latest track is perfect for that quick 5 minute power nap whilst at work!

[Summer Indie] Metronomy – English Riviera

in April, Metronomy released latest EP ‘English Riviera’  has been on my repeat list for the past 2 weeks and quite simply, it’s brilliant. Metronomy have captured the summer English sound and bundled into a album that front man and the man behind Metronomy Joseph Mount claimed is “a soundtrack to a bad weekend”.

From start to finish you get a real sense of optimism and for me the sound is exactly where I wanted them to go after hearing their 2006 album ‘Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe)’. Critically acclaimed by NME who gave this album a 9/10, it really is a must listen to twice album! My favourite 2 tracks are below and they’re both cheeky, humble, sexy, profound and light all in one.

[Electro Banger] Valerna – Amazing (Clockwork Remix)

valerna-clockwork-amazing

There’s nothing better, then searching the internet for ages for your next fix of dirty low frequency filled filth – then stumbling upon a chunky slice of sub that encapsulates everything you’ve been searching for. American duo Valerna and Henry Steinway, aka Clockwork, are no newbies in creating huge bangers. The last time I saw these 2 names together was when Valerna did a face melting remix of Clockwork’s ‘Airflow’. Since then, Clockwork has repayed the favour and created an absolutely insane remix of Amazing, and yes, it is Amazing.

[Electro/House] Alex Gaudino – Miami Penthouse

Alex-Gaudino-Miami-Penthouse

After his biggest hit to date “I’m In Love (I Wanna Do It)” reached the top spot on the US Dance Charts, the Italian producer/DJ Alex Gaudino has certainly not sat back and relaxed. Whilst the world goes mental over different versions of What A Feeling, the ‘Italian Stallion’ has slipped this 7minute stealth bomb through the radar. Keeping true to his form, Gaudino has chosen a beasty bass and some layered synths as his weapons of choice, throwing in a few surprises along the way. Currently touring, Gaudino has a reputation for putting on a darn good show – so if you get the chance to see him then do!

[Electro/House] Avicii – Levels (ID)

AVICII-LEVELS

So one of the hottest names at the Miami Music Conference & Ultra this year was Avicii who seems to be surfing a wave of hype across the Internet right now. His hype however is justified, with this track being one of the most highly anticipated. Building on his unfinished leaked tune ‘ID’, Avicii polished this track off with a cheeky vox sample from Pretty Lights and some fancy new synths. Set to be a club banger – this ones for partying hard too!

[Face-Melting Electro] Davip – Take A Chance (feat. Gwen Stefani Vocals)

DAVIP---take-a-chance

Woah – this is immense! Ilgiz Shamsiev aka Davip went ahead and ripped up Gwen Stefani‘What You Waiting For?’ track and slammed some utterly filthy bass lines. Born and raised in ‘well known’ Tyumen region in the Pyt-Yah city, Russia (what do you mean – you’ve never been there??) Davip soundcloud consists of more gems like this one which seem to sit somewhere in the bermuda triangle of drum ‘n’ bass, dubstep and metal.

Released under New York label Downbeat Productions, this track has been getting a lot of attention on Soundcloud and rightly so. The Russian producer has been producing original tracks since 2002 and with so much intensity in each track – seeing him live must be a pretty mental experience. Enjoy!
