[Electro] Calvin Harris – Awooga

Calvin Harris awooga

A complete EDM instrumental track here from none other then Scottish boy – Calvin Harris. His usual style of funky bass lines and catchy vocals aren’t seen anywhere here. Instead, ‘Awooga’ takes the step into creating a pure fist pumping club banger and it’s something I want to hear even hear more of from Calvin Harris.

The track itself features a pretty epic melody and relentless bass. It’is definitely a grower, so make sure you give it more then just a single listen because after 2 plays, I was itching for more. Buy on Beatport

[Grinding Electro] Dumme Jungs – Daylight

Dumme Jungs - Daylight

David Bwoooi and Senior Carlos aka. Dumme Jungs are a very talented techno duo from Berlin who have just released this hard hitting original track – Daylight. Dropping into a brutally aggressive bass line at around 1:20, these boys definitely know something about making people go crazy! Their mission statement is “Losing it at night – black and blue in the morning” – and ‘Daylight‘ will definitely help people meet that.

Now signed to the ‘OH MY GOD IT’S TECHNO MUSIC’ label – Dumme Jungs have managed to get to #3 in the German Club Charts – no mean feat considering how much Germans love their techno!

Deadmau5 – HR208938
’HR208938′

When this dropped on Deadmu5’s Soundcloud, it was no coincidence that the Soundcloud servers quickly shutdown – such is the demand for Deadmu5 right now. This track has the classic annalogue Deadmau5 sound to it and if you really want to know everything about this track – the title actually comes from name of the north star. Cool ay?Buy on Beatport

Fedde Le Grand – ‘Control Room

Tim Healey vs. Calvertron ft. Sirreal & Pippa Trix - Rock it Roll it (Dirtyloud Remix)#6 in dubstep charts
Rock It Roll It ft. Sirreal & Pippa Trix (Dirtyloud Remix)

’Rock It Roll It ft. Sirreal & Pippa Trix (Dirtyloud Remix)’

So some heavy dubstep is now on the menu, this time coming from Dirtyloud who have remixed this track Rock It Roll from Tim Healey & Calvertron. Dirtyloud consist of the duo Marcus & Jim and have predominately been producing heavy electro-house. This track see’s them flirting with dubstep – let’s hope we see more of the same in 2011. #8 electro house charts
Chrizz Luvly – Amen (Original Mix)

’Chrizz Luvly – Amen (Original Mix)

So this track has a classic drum and bass fill right before the drop, I suspect a lot of people may have switched off by that point, but PLEASE wait for the drop. Reminding me a lot of Dirtyloud’s older stuff, Brazilian born Chrizz Luvly then evolves the track into an filthy bouncing bass line that really keeps you gripped. Buy on Beatport

#3 in electronica charts
Dillon Francis – Brazzers Theme (Munchis Fuck That Its Bangbros Remix)

’Dillon Francis – Brazzers Theme (Munchis Fuck That Its Bangbros Remix)’

Signed to Diplo’s Mad Decent label, Dillon Francis just gets bigger and bigger each month. On first listen, I didn’t like this remix from Munchi, but on second listen I completely fell into its trap. The Indian bhangra style dubstep is simply brilliant and it’s quite rare to hear. This tracks screams originality, not necessarily a hard hitting dubstep track – but you’ll no doubt be attempting some embarrassing Indian moves. Buy on Beatport

#4 in indie dance charts

Steve Aoki & Sidney Samson – ‘Wake Up’ + Teaser Video + Remix

Steve Aoki & Sidney Samson have created a bit of a monster of a track here called ‘Wake Up’ and released it along side a brilliant teaser video and some darn right dirty remixes. Featuring all the standard rage (“waaakeee uuuuuppp!”) from Aoki and a classic dirty dutch drop from Samson – this track is set to cause some serious damage across clubs worldwide.

The teaser video was directed by Jason Beattie and features Michelle Rodriguez & Clifton Collins Jr. Steve Aoki comes across incredibly cool and the whole vibe of the video makes me pretty excited to see the final full length version.

So straight onto the Mustard Pimp remix, and this one comes straight off the remix EP which you can pick from Beatport here. This remix from the electro duo adds that extra level of trashy sound to the original and I love it. If you’ve never heard of Mustard Pimp then get onto their Soundcloud out for some seriously heavy mix tapes that will definitely get you bopping.

[Electro] D.I.M. – Is You (Le Castle Vania Remix)

Le Castle Vania - DIM Remix

Bit of a banger for you today! This single from German DJ/Producer D.I.M originally came out on Boys Noize Records way back in 2007. D.I.M sent it Dylan Eiland, aka. Le Castle Vania, to do what he does best on it and drop some dirty beats but he never managed to finish off the remix. Flash forward to now and Le Castle Vania decieded it was time to finish it off – and I’m very glad he has! The result is a big club banger that has one hell of a chunky bass and the ever welcome presence of a cowbell!

[Filth] Subdue- horizon (Kolt13 remix)

Kolt - the subdue remix

Here’s game we can all play – define the genre of this latest track from kolt13?

I have no idea – all I know is that it has to have the word “step” after it… maybe “bad-ass-step” or something more catchy like “that-bass-caused-some-serious-bowel-movements….step” – what do you think?

Well any who – french boy kolt13 has created a fierce monster of a track here in working with The Subdue. Luring you in at the start with it’s trance like chords, at 0:50 you get ambushed by a barrage sound that relentlessly slaps you in the face with some serious bass! Ouch.

Track set for release March 21 on So French Recs
