Superstar house producers David Guetta and Nicky Romero have teamed up for a brand new single out on Jack Back Records. The melodic styles of both artists blend nicely together on the breakdown and the driving wobbly bass synth lines keep the track moving fast. Even though the track uses just one vocal sample, “Mother-fucking big fat bass” is definitely a good one! You can stream this hot new release below or pick it up on Beatport for your collection.

[Progressive] Usher & Diplo – Climax (Kaskade Remix)
What happens when one of the most popular singers of all time collaborates with two of the EDM scene’s top producers? A Climax of course! Atlanta native Usher‘s new single is a smooth-as-butter tribute to all things at their peak. Philadelphia beat master Diplo and LA remixer Kaskade took Usher’s crooning to another level with this one. You might want to play the original if you’re making sweet love tonight, but the remix is great for the cigarette break after! Check out Diplo’s latest creative effort, a kick ass photo journal called “128 BMP” on Amazon and catch a set from Kaskade on his “Freaks of Nature” tour when it stops through a city near you this summer.

[Moomba] Flux Pavilion ft. Example – Daydreamer (Dillon Francis Remix)
The Don of Moombahton Dillon Francis is back with another huge jump style remix. This time he sets his lasers on UK dubstep giant Flux Pavilion‘s latest single “Daydreamer ft. Example”. Francis perfectly matches the synth ambiance and big room chords to Example’s melancholy vocals before hitting you with his signature moomba drums and chopped up laser bass synths. If you haven’t already, be sure to pick up Dillion’s EP “Something Something Awesome” on iTunes and look out for both these heavy hitters on tour this year.

[Bootleg] Of Monsters and Men – King and Lionheart (Dzeko & Torres Remix)
Icelandic folk band Of Monsters and Men have been enjoying a nice journey ever since they won a yearly battle of the bands contest called “Musiktilraunir”. With their uplifting vocal harmonies and intricate melodies they are a joy to listen to any time of day. You can pick up their debut full length record “My Head Is An Animal” on their website, and enjoy a free bootleg remix download courtesy of Canadian up and comers Dzeko and Torres. Trancy chords and driving house drums are an easy win, and the vocals on this track help it to stand apart from the rest, so we enjoyed it.
[Indie Rock] Imagine Dragons – It’s Time
Imagine Dragons are a four piece rock band out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Through utilizing emotional songwriting and a whimsical attitude paired with an unstoppable work ethic these guys have been seeing well earned success lately. I was fortunate enough to catch their set this week at the Bowery Ballroom here in NYC and I was definitely moved by their performance. You can just feel the honesty and power in their songs as lead singer Dan Renolds switches off between wailing his heart out and banging on a huge bass drum. They are definitely worth seeing in your town when they come through on their spring tour, so don’t miss out. You can get a taste of their sound with the free download of their single “It’s Time” below or by picking up their latest EP “Continued Silence” on iTunes today.
[House] Lana Del Rey – Video Games (LA Riots & GTA Remix)
Brooklyn-based singer / songwriter Lana Del Rey tells the kinds of sad stories in her songs that remind us of love lost and old friends. As one of the brightest stars in the “sad core” scene, Del Rey’s voice carries us along through the bad times to the good ones waiting just over the horizon. Her single “Video Games” is brought to new life by remixers GTA from Miami and LA Riots of, well, LA. With an underwater bass line over epic trance chords their production style goes well with the sad core theme even if it isn’t the most original sound we’ve heard lately. Fans of GTA can catch them on tour supporting Laidback Luke this spring and LA Riots are always on the move so we’re sure to see more of them in 2012 as well. Enjoy the preview below!
