[Deep House] Nick Jonas – Jealous (Ugo Remix)

Having only dropped his sensual and funky track “Jealous,” which is rapidly gaining momentum, this past September, Nick Jonas’ solo career seems to be off to a pretty nice start. Seeing as he’s signed to Universal Music Group’s Island Records, we are all very excited to see what he has in store for us with his forthcoming album. While we anticipate its release, we have been fortunate to receive some pretty outstanding remixes of what is to be included on the album. Thus far, one of our favorites is Ugo’s rendition of “Jealous.” He takes on a much darker perspective, cranking up the sex-factor with hypnotic percussion and going heavy on the harmony. To put it simply, Ugo transforms the catchy tune into a night club anthem guaranteed to turn a venue into a sauna.

I Won ft. Kanye West (Louis Futon Remix)

When it comes to recent electronic music, there seem to be trending sub genres. Then when we get tired of listening to or producing the same style of music, we shift to a different sub genre, and as we get bored of what’s already out there we go and create a sound that is fresh. Eventually others catch on to this new sound until it becomes its own genre.

Something that has very recently become somewhat of a trend in electronic music is future bass, a style that is on the chiller side of the EDM spectrum. As many producers are catching on to the sub genre like wildfire, they have to start over from scratch and find a sound that makes their brand stand out.

An artist who has crafted productions that are so signature is Louis Futon. This becomes almost undeniable after listening to his latest remix of Future’s sensual track, “I Won.” Futon cranks up the sexiness on the original, lacing it with an assortment of fluttering synths while incorporating a rich melody and some beautiful beats. This remix truly defines Louis Futon as a stand-out artist.

[Future Trap] Vanic X Kay.Flay – Can’t Sleep

Vanic X K.Flay
Can't Sleep

Here at TMN, we want to provide our ninjas with only the best of the best. In order to do this, we have to sit down and sift through tons and tons of submissions until we come across those that leave us with goosebumps. As writers, we tend to form relationships with the artists that stick out to us and continue to amaze us over time with their work.

Most recently we were accosted with a track, “Can’t Sleep,” by familiar names Vanic and Kay.Flay. After a single listen, we knew the track had “irresistible” written all over it. Maintaining a similar sound as his prior release, “Circles,” Vanic once again conquers his rejuvenating trap sound, which is fitted ideally with the combination of sultriness and raspiness of K.Flay’s voice.

From his past two releases, it is clear that Vanic is raising his own standards. We can only now predict even better things to come from the Vancouver producer as his sound seems to evolve by the minute.

They are those songs that make it seem like the sun is shining on us when the only things above us are rain clouds.

RAC is an artist that has mastered the skill of producing music that will inevitably elevate anyone’s mood. Most recently, he’s exercised this skill on his remix of ODESZA’s “Say My Name.” Though we have encountered many remixes of In Return’s standout track, RAC’s was one that definitely caught our attention.

Opening with voice samplings of Zyra followed by an upbeat chord progression, the track eventually builds into one big conglomerate of musical sunshine. Press play and get ready to watch as a smile forms across your face.

Hey Soul Sister (SMLE Remix)

Here at TMN, we are passionate about sharing the music that brings our ears happiness with our viewers. Just the same, we are devoted to exposing those shrouded artists with unforeseen music that is just waiting to be heard. These hidden treasures are what always seem to quench our music thirst.

As of recent SMLE made their way onto the music map, and you better believe we didn’t fail to notice. After catching our attention with their cover of Michael Buble’s rendition of Nina Simone’s original “Feeling Good,” we have kept our eyes glued for new releases.

As music bloggers, we are lucky enough to be able to watch artists develop in both their success and their sound. From a more personal point-of-view, and having been introduced to SMLE’s work since day uno, this brand new release of theirs is quite a treat for myself as it captures their growth. Taking on Train’s pop hit, “Hey Soul Sister,” SMLE feeds your ears illuminating melodies from start to end.

As you may remember from TMN’s previous coverage of SMLE, the guys like to incorporate live instrumentals into their productions. Throughout the remix you’ll notice colorful guitar lines in addition to the glittering synths that pulls the whole piece together to become something that is truly one of its own kind.
