[Future] Droeloe – Bon Voyage

DROELOE
Bon Voyage

Dutch artists Droeloe are back with yet another unparalleled production. This time, they took an exceptionally wide step to release this special track. Their latest, “Bon Voyage,” is one of many “cracked codes” involved in their latest creative project; a full on “Monstercat hack.” Engaging their fans and listeners by tasking them to piece together forthcoming releases through mysterious videos and a Monstercat website takeover, they’ve finally exposed their newest single.

“Bon Voyage” exposes Droeloes’ consistent abilities to deviate from typical future electronic music as the song encompasses uniquely crafted synths and melodies that are near impossible to resist. With an unpredictable chorus and innovative sound, we can confidently say that this tune was well worth the anticipation.

[Electronic] CLEW feat. Prov – Tarzan

CLEW
TARZAN (prod. by Prov)

At TMN, we get a bit selective about the music we share on Sundays. Considering it is a day of relaxation for many of us, it is also a day for preparation. In the simplest of words, we probably use 3/4ths of the day to unwind before we reluctantly bring ourselves to confront that Monday is only a few hours away. As a result, we like to choose music that takes on both the characteristics of soothing and motivating. This evening, we’re bringing you a tune that falls flawlessly into this description.

Hailing from the windy city of Chicago, CLEW makes his debut on TMN with his single, “Tarzan,” which features fellow producer, Prov. As the lead single off his forthcoming project, an EP titled “Get a Clue,” “Tarzan” carries the sound that establishes CLEW’s identity.

Influenced by hip hop and electronic components, “Tarzan” is shaped by an infectious percussion line of tribal drums, smooth guitar riffs, and catchy vocal chops of CLEW’s rich vocals. The breakout single offers both vitality and ease, making it the perfect track to end your Sunday night to.

[Electronic] DROELOE – Shibuya

Shibuya

The Music Ninja first caught wind of DROELOE with the release of the duo’s mesmerizing single, “zZz.” Shortly after, we came to learn they were part of none other than San Holo’s label, bitbird, when he showcased their talents in his label’s first ever EP release “Gouldian Finch.”

With the Dutch artists indefinitely on our radars, we made sure to catch their latest tune “Shibuya.” DROELOE takes listeners into Tokyo through a piece that blends the forward thinking of electronic music with the classic sound of Asian instrumentals. Designing the track with layers of narrow plucking synths and imitations of string instrumentals, they create a product that not only resembles the title’s Japanese origin, but presents the authenticity of their work.

[Event Review] Electric Zoo Day 3 + Playlist

In case you weren’t able to make it out to Randall’s Island for this year’s Electric Zoo, TMN’s got you covered. We were lucky to catch some pretty amazing performances from artists like Getter, Lil Dicky, Louis The Child, Valentino Khan, and many more.

The minute we stepped onto the premise, we were bedazzled by the stages. The Cobra Stage in particular had us in a state of awe, with a design almost unimaginable. Of course, our attention was quickly steered away by the lineup we didn’t want to miss. Getting our day’s fill of bass and hip hop from the Buygore stage from acts like GTA, Borgore, and Juicy J, we then made way to the Riverside stage to catch a vivacious set from Andrew Bayer. We closed out the eventful night at the main stage for a spectacular set from The Chainsmokers, where we enjoyed an array of music from some alternative classics to their charting originals.

As this year’s festival was jam-packed with an assortment of fantastic performances, we thought we’d put together a playlist to highlight a few of our favorites!

’Weekend’
’Borgore Ft. G
Eazy – Forbes (Getter Remix)’
’All I Need (One Mo Drank)’
’Molly (feat. Brendon Urie of Panic at the Disco)’
’Pierce Fulton – Borrowed Lives Feat. NVDES’
’The Chainsmokers – KANYE Ft. Siren’

[Electronic] Bronze Whale Ft. Kenzie May – Hear Me

Bronze Whale
Hear Me

Here we have a much too long overdue post on an artist we’ve had our eyes on for a while now, Bronze Whale. Their latest release, “Hear Me,” only gives us more reason to keep our eyes glued. Providing quite a shift in sound from their previous work, Bronze Whale executes versatility with grace. The boys take a step away from the relaxed future bass, and take on a concept that infuses their initial electronic sound with upbeat pop elements.

The tune is a direct reflection of its title, as Kenzie May’s clear voice elegantly glides over the lively production in a way that enhances every single element of the track. “Hear Me” holds on to our attention from beginning to end, making a statement that we can’t ignore (or resist).

[Indie Pop] Autumn In June – Take Flight

Autumn In June
Take Flight

Here at The Music Ninja, our sole purpose is to dig for creativity – music that we believe will connect with our readers, and expose it. As a result, we never stop searching for the freshest of sounds that result from quality work. So when we were introduced to Autumn In June back in 2015, we knew it would have been much too selfish of us not share his latest release with everyone.

Making his third appearance on TMN, Autumn in June reminds us once again of why we fell in love with music in the first place. “Take Flight” resembles a roller coaster ride, as every twist and turn keeps us on the edge of our seats. We say this in a literal sense as every infectious component puts us in a state of euphoria that causes some uncontrollable grooving. Comprised of a vocal texture that melts right into the underlying notes, and a sensual percussion line that fits into every crevice of the track like a puzzle piece, “Take Flight,” will become your newest music addiction.
