After a hard day of work, we all seek out those sources for the energy we’re short of when we walk out the door. Whether that be an intense work out session at the gym, a much needed confrontation with the bed, or taking your spot in front of the TV to give your undivided attention to Netflix, we can all agree we would be nearly non-functional without it. For us here at TMN, our go to source is music, and as of this week, more specifically it’s been coming from electronic producer Slushii.

With a gift of provoking carefree vibes with every track he touches, Slushii’s music immediately induces positivity and what we are all truly seeking here, energy. For his latest feat, Slushii takes on Mnek and Zara Larsson’s “Never Forget You.” His rendition is invigorating and fresh, bringing a surging vitality with rich, uplifting synth work kicking it into full gear with infectious rhythms. His remix is certain to replace that post-work sluggishness with full force drive.

As an artist, one is constantly exploring and testing their creativeness. This means their art is always susceptible to change and transformation until they have established a style that they identify with themselves. It is normal to try out many methods in order to find that sound that says “this is me.” In Sweekuh’s case, his music has exhibited an assortment of styles as his abilities continue to mature. His discography holds a range of genres as he dips his feet into a multitude of musical waters, all of which he incontestably masters.

After listening to Sweekuh’s latest work, a remix of Molly Moore’s “Piece of my Heart,” it was impossible for us not to provide him with some well-deserved credit. It is fair to say that the track is a breakthrough for him; it establishes that long sought-after sound – the one that makes you say “this is exactly how it should be”. Take our word for it when we say this one is worth every minute of your listening time.

Annabel Jones taps into her inner selfishness through a very not so selfish act, releasing her latest jam “IOU.” The lyrics of “IOU” place you in the driver’s seat as someone who has the upper hand in a romantic relationship. Her words paint a portrait of one who uses this power to their benefit, taking advantage of the other’s vulnerability while they are “blind” to the manipulation. Sounds a little familiar right? Regardless of whether we want to admit it or not, all of us have played the roles in a relationship of user and, or, victim at one point or another in our lives, making this tune emphatically relatable. In the case of “IOU,” you’ll find yourselves embracing the role as victim to the undeniably catchy tune.
