More than just flossing on the track or dropping some braggadocious bars about the wealthy life, each rapper speaks on something a little deeper. The Underachievers break their recent mute 2014 status with a dope new track for our listening enjoyment. The Ryan Hemsworth-produced single “Incandescent” is something a little different from their previous body of work. The rap duo make their return to the webs with a dark, moody vibe and gritty, menacing lyrics to match. Paired with some heavy drum work and harsh keys, the underground crew try to come hard with this new sound. Signed to Flying Lotus‘ Brainfeeder imprint, you can expect the Brooklyn group’s debut album, Cellar Door: Terminus Ut Exordium, later this year.

The project, titled Lovers Holiday II, comes just in time for Valentine’s Day and is a continuation from his 2011 EP Lovers Holiday. Carrying the same vibe from the previous collection, fans get a brief taste into the inner workings of the producer/rapper/singer/fashionisto. Viewers of the Grammy’s last night received a little extra during the commercial break. Premiering the second trailer for the upcoming Disney movie Maleficent, Lana Del Rey’s new cover track “Once Upon a Dream” also made its debut. The chilling tune sets a tense mood for the theatrical trailer and Rey’s signature moody voice is a perfect backdrop. Swooning and placing listeners in a trance, the single will be the film’s title track. Telling the story of the classic Grimm fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty from the perspective of the “evil sorceress”, the upcoming flick is set to drop May 30th nationwide. John Legend may have the ladies swooning with his latest romantic ballad “All of Me,” but Tiësto keeps the dancefloor filled with his reworking. This new remix comes as a freebie for fans to get into, flipping the slow rhythm into a synth-heavy EDM gem. Still holding some of the romanticism of the original, Tiësto puts his work on the chorus, with a reverberating beat and slow vocals that make for an interesting dynamic to the ballad. In memoriam of one of rap’s greats, A Tribe Called Quest‘s Phife Dawg pays homage on his new single “Dear Dilla”. J Dilla, born James Dewitt Yancy, was one of the most influential emcee/producers in the game, whose work on the board and mic led to some of the greatest tracks in hip-hop history. His life was cut too short in 2006 due to complications from thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura. Paying tribute to his friend on this new single, Phife remembers the good times they spent together over a DJ Rasta Root throwback beat. Coming across as more of a story during the rapper’s wake, Phife even recalls the time they both spent in the hospital together.
