[Denver Giveaway/Event Preview] Miami Horror w/ De Lux – 5/26 – Larimer Lounge

Miami Horror
Love Like Mine feat. Cleopold + Denver Giveaway!

It’s our favorite time again friends, as we’ve got another great show put together for the fair city of Denver. The Music Ninja, along with our friends at Souls In Action, are proud to present flag-bearing Melbourne synth-rock & dance troupe Miami Horror and L.A. rising alt-poppers De Lux next Tuesday, May 26, at one of our most cherished and intimate Mile High venues, the Larimer Lounge. Of course, we haven’t just come today to toot our own horn; as always, we wanted to get you Ninjas in on the action as well. We’ll be giving away a pair of free tickets to one lucky winner to join us early next week for what will certainly be a night featuring incredible music, an educated and lively crowd and lots of libations (unless of course you are under the legal US drinking age as this is a 16+ event).

Entering our contest is beyond simple. Just “like” both The Music Ninja & Miami Horror on Facebook, and comment on the post below with your favorite Miami Horror song (we’ve even made it easy by including their single “Love Like Mine” above)  and boom! You’re entered. For those of you who’d rather secure their spots at the show, you can punch your ticket the old fashioned way here too. Good luck Ninjas!

[Nu-Disco] CAPPA – Killin’ It (Eau Claire Remix)

CAPPA
Killin' It (Eau Claire Remix)

Rachel Wong’s consistent evolution and progression of sound through her Eau Claire project has been a hot topic of conversation around TMN lately. The DC based disco slayer has continually raised expectations with every passing release, most recently being featured through a properly deep take on Marvin Gaye’s “How Sweet It Is”; and shows no signs of slowing down her assiduous output. Today, Eau Claire’s teamed up with Nashville by way of Philly artist CAPPA to author a disco infused remix of “Killin’ It”, taking the original’s slick downtempo pop feel and framing it gorgeously through a syrupy, even more danceable lens. As the weather turns a bit warmer stateside, we’re expecting to hear this one on rooftops and pool parties all season. Stream Eau Claire’s “Killin It” remix above, and grab a free download here.

[Electro-Pop] Goldroom ft. George Maple – Embrace (Alternate Version)

Goldroom
Embrace (feat George Maple)

It’s almost difficult to believe that we’ve been posting Josh Legg’s Goldroom project for just under half a decade now. From humble production beginnings authoring breezy disco remixes of his favorite artists for fun, to making audiences of 100,000+ swoon in collective adoration, to what has now become a full-fledged live act behind some of this generation’s most recognizable alt-anthems; Goldroom’s trajectory has been nothing short of major-motion-picture-esque. One of those anthems however, stood head and shoulder above the rest when it came to this writer’s personal touch: the emotive pop scorcher “Embrace”. Why would we be covering a tune that was released almost two years ago on an extended play of the same name though, you ask? Well that’s simple. In a new series of tunes through Snapchat and behind a new EP It’s Like You Never Went Away (our favorite line from “Embrace” by the by), the tune has been finally unveiled in its truest form; with rangey female warbler George Maple on lead vocals. To elaborate, Legg stated: “George Maple and I actually wrote ‘Embrace’ together, so having this come full circle, and to have her singing on the song, feels like a dream. The song Embrace is all about re-connection, and so having George back in my studio again, singing the song, felt like it was meant to be”.

There’s certainly not much more to be said than that. Stream Goldroom’s entire new EP on Spotify here, or purchase through iTunes here, and check out Goldroom’s latest run of tour dates below. For now, let’s bask in the glow that is the purest form of Goldroom’s “Embrace”.

[Indie Dance] Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do (Gazzo Remix)

Gazzo Music
Ellie Goulding-Love Me Like You Do (Gazzo Remix)

Gazzo just released this official remix of “Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding, once again showing his versatility in producing quality music. Whether it’s future bass, progressive house or electro, the Jersey-based producer’s got it all. Adding in a chill beat and intricate guitar melodies, Gazzo creates a dance track hooked with emotions. The original vocals are flipped and slowed in tempo to keep the authenticity of the tune. We knew that you just could not stop singing along to the original, and now you can sing AND dance to it.

Gazzo excelled at keeping us guessing, and this tune perfectly exemplifies that. We are very excited to ride along with a producer like him, who does not let genres define his sound.

[House/Disco] Lenno – The Best feat. Dragonette

The young Disco Don from Finland, Lenno, had yet another release on Universal Music with his original song “The Best.” Toronto’s Dragonette brought her breathtaking vocals to the song, topping it off to make it a monumental feel good track. A potent positive energy is teased in the intro, but returns with full force once the drop comes around. You won’t mind waiting for it though, because Dragonette really nails it with her performance. Lenno killed it just the same, with a production that will turn the shyest of individuals into party people. Grab a copy from iTunes; it’s well worth it. Over the summer, you’ll be happy you did get it!
