[Future House] Timbaland Ft. Keri Wilson – The Way I Are (Chachi Remix)

ChachiOfficial
The Way I Are (Chachi Remix)

NY-based veteran producer Chachi released this juicy remix of a semi-throwback track by originally by Timbaland and Keri Hilson, and it certainly showcases the producer’s skillset, as he fuses future house with electropop and a hint of hip-hop. The tune starts off with a looping vocal sample that continues to drive throughout the whole song. The main melody is still there, reminiscent of an old Top 40 track that makes you sing along no matter what. The bass drop features a series of hardhitting future bass maneuvers that would leave you headbanging ’til your head falls off. It’s catchy, it’s a banger, and we absolutely want to hear more. Make sure to grab a free download of the track or click here. Chachi is definitely an exciting producer to watch in this coming year.

[Future/House] Gucci Mane – Pillz (Dr. Fresch Remix) [TMN Premiere]

Gucci Mane
Pillz (Dr. Fresch Remix)

In today’s climate of rapidly shape-shifting musical tastes coupled with sub-genres literally popping up overnight -specifically in dance music; we get a chance to witness some special artists knock the proverbial ball out of the park amongst a smorgasbord of evolving sounds. One such case study in aural diversification has remained L.A.’s Dr. Fresch. We’ve featured the envelope pushing chameleon before, from analog bass swingers to sultry future groovers and we’ve still yet to be disappointed. On the latest house-tinged remix from the Prep School Recordings boss, we find him taking on one of James Franco’s finest film co-stars (and a pretty decent rapper) Gucci Mane with a future revision of party-favor ode “Pillz”. The track gets pulled from Gucci’s club scene straight to the underground dance halls in which future jack (especially in the UK) has really begun to take hold, behind a sterling slick set of crisp, uncluttered legato synths, which pump an innovative feel to the standard four-four kick and swinging bassline that permeates so much of house music. We’re sure this one will be making the rounds around the interwebs as Dr. Fresch continues to solidify a presence as one of dance music’s fastest rising commodities, so get a leg up on all those trendy friends of yours and hear his remix of “Pillz” before anyone else thanks to an official ‘TMN Premiere; and snag the free download in exchange for a Facebook “like” here.

[Must Listen] Rude – Disco

Rude
Disco (demo)

If there’s one thing we’ve learned about music blogging over the past five years, it’s that there’s no way to get to it all. We miss tracks. We miss EPs. We miss LPs. We miss shows, festivals, and live streams. There’s just too much to keep up with.

Unfortunately, we did miss this grin-inducing tune from the enigmatic Rude, five months back. Fortunately for those of you who haven’t heard it, we’re ok with admitting we missed an amazing tune and are beaming to post about it today.

Impressively enough, “Disco” is the debut track from this British outfit, and simply put: it glimmers with the same type of unadulterated happiness that one would expect drawn across the face of a child walking into Disneyland. It’s a spattering, quirky, and highly engaging tune, brought together by a playful, guitar progression, upbeat percussion and claps, and frolicsome lyrics.

Addiction is inevitable with “Disco.” Throw it on, dance around, and enjoy smiling from ear-to-ear.

Madison – Gotta Have You (The Twelves Italo Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

Gotta Have You (The Twelves Italo Remix)
Madison

Who’s ready to suit up and head out for a night on the town? If you raised your hand, then you need to drop whatever you’re doing an take a gander at this 80’s-inspired synth-heavy remix of Madison’s “Gotta Have You.”

As if extracted from an earlier time filled with big hair and excessive cocaine abuse (or so we’ve heard), this interpretation of NYC artist Madison has us shaking and grooving all over the room. The original version of “Gotta Have You” boasted a well-defined guitar riff – the kind that has you wanting to wail on out notes on across imaginary frets in your car – along with grainy vocals distorted to give the perfect amount of edge and pop all wrapped into a perfect, pretty package.

The Twelves, whom claim one of our favorite remixes of all time (hint: it involves Two Door Cinema Club), have taken this garage-rock tune and spun it into a dancefloor pleaser with it’s 80’s synth pop soundscape. The bass line is light and twangy, the percussion is pleasantly simulated, and the vocal sampling is damn near perfect.

All in all, this tune is a stellar piece of remix perfection, and ideal for your first round of shots this weekend.

[Pop-House] Listenbee – Save Me

Listenbee
Save Me

The muscle behind Kiesza’s viral tune “Hideaway”, NYC based imprint Lokal Legend, have dropped their latest release on us from Listenbee, “Save Me”, and it’s got us bubbling fizzy all over the office this morning. With his debut, Listenbee’s already got us brewing up comparisons to Robin Schulz, using an army of clean acoustic guitar noodling over a peanut-buttery thick four-four kick and melodious percussion to induce that warm and fuzzy feeling only the perfect groovy house track could elicit. To say we’re impressed with Lokal Legend and Listenbee’s brief output would be a bit of an understatement, and we’ll be over here salivating for more from both entities in the near future. For now, stream “Save Me” from Listenbee above, and cop the free download in exchange for a soundcloud “follow” here.
