[Liquid DnB] Porter Robinson – Sad Machine (Tut Tut Child Remix)

Porter Robinson
Sad Machine (Tut Tut Child Remix)

A couple of weeks ago Porter Robinson released yet another single, “Sad Machine”, off his upcoming album, Worlds. Now that the internet has recovered from hearing one of the most adorable songs to have surfaced across our music feed, Tut Tut Child decided to throw us down the rabbit hole of liquid feels with his bootleg rendition of “Sad Machine”. The drum and bass producer paid homage to Porter by infusing a taste of liquidy goodness into the wondrous track.

Tut Tut Child centered his bootleg around the melodic undertones of the female robot vocals in which he places a great emphasis on the contrasting power of Porter’s voice along with hers. With the subtle addition of the soft snares, he transforms “Sad Machine” into a happy, upbeat, feel good tune to get you through any day. This is the perfect tune to get you ready for those endless summer nights with the people you love most, so grab your free download, crank up the volume, and let this robot make you feel super giddy inside.

[Review] Monstercat 017 – Ascension

After successfully topping the album charts on iTunes Dance and solidifying themselves as one of the top independent labels in dance music, Monstercat has proven that they are the next driving force in todays industry. Housing artists such as Krewella, Pegboard Nerds, Haywyre, Vicetone, and more, the label has made it clear that their forward thinking mindset, along with their elite team full of passionate artists, are revolutionizing the music world day by day.

With the forefront of their operations being among some of the most well renowned talent out there, it was only a matter of time until the next wave of Monster-kittens made their rounds to showcase their ground-breaking productions. Well, ninjas, the wait is officially over because Monstercat dropped an intense load of eclectic feels on the world last week with the release of their 17th compilation album, Ascension. Including artists such as Aero Chord, Rootkit, SCNDL, Varien!, and more, this album showcases a wide array of genres that will tickle everyone’s fancy. The ninjas here at TMN have been listening to this compilation album over and over again, to which we find something new and enticing each and every time. Through each song we are able to senselessly move to the beautiful melodies and discover the intrinsic meaning that each artist conveys in their masterpieces. In the end, one will have lost all sense of their existing state of mind and embark on an intense journey into this lucid world full of numbing basslines, spine-tingling melodies, and ear-shattering breakdowns strong enough to melt your face off.

As music continues to evolve and artists begin to experiment with production, Monstercat continues to deliver us that next big sound. Their ability to stay ahead of everyone else is what separates them from the rest of the crowd, and for that, we cannot wait until these kittens bring forth the next round of talent to make us question the word around us. Ascension has given us that conclusive resolve within ourselves and is proof that Monstercat knows the true definition of artistry. Make sure to support these artists and purchase your copy today; we promise you will not regret this decision in any way shape or form.

[Liquid DnB] Porter Robinson – Sad Machine (Janpier X Waverokr Bootleg)

Porter Robinson
Sad Machine (Janpier X Waverokr Bootleg)

When I heard the original for “Sad Machine” I wasn’t completely impressed, but Janpier and Waverokr’s remix blew me away! This drum and bass twist of “Sad Machine” will brighten your day with sexy vibes. This track popped up in my feed today and I almost skipped it. I’m stoked that I didn’t, because they completely destroyed this “Sad Machine” remix. I have been listening to Drum & Bass for years; this is the first time I have heard kawaii vibes on a DnB tune. This is the first time I have heard of Waverokr, but most definitely won’t be the last. If you take a few extra moments to browse through Janpier’s stream you will see multiple tracks together. If you haven’t heard of Janpier until now, make sure that name sticks with you. Janpier recently had a Dim Mak release and headlined a show in Argentina! With records as glorious as theirs, I highly doubt you’ll forget that name!

[Drum and Bass] BMotion – All My Love Ft. Jon Lilygreen

I was delighted to stumble across the sounds of young producer BMotion back towards the start of the year and I’m thrilled to see that he drops his follow up release on the 18th of this month. Once again releasing on the quickly establishing Soulvent Records, drum and bass new boy BMotion drops two beautifully crafted tracks in the form of ‘All My Love/Reflections’.

The single uses the crystal clear vocals of Jon Lilygreen – who was also picked up by the producer to sing on his debut piece ‘Circles’. An uplifting and vitalic track, ‘All My Love’ glides along, balancing loose, flurried drops with the warmth in Lilygreen’s sound. ‘Reflections’ is my favourite of the two, and it really showcases the serenity and emotional drive behind BMotion’s music. It’s a more toned down slice of liquid – and the melody is enveloped by the resonating, twinkling use of piano chords. He has used a recording of himself playing the drums in this piece, and they increase the urgency with smattering breakdowns underneath the stirring, yet gentle vocals. The soundtrack to a summer dream.

I continue to watch the development of Soulvent Records with great interest – their ability so far to select young, passionate composers is hugely encouraging, and each release seems to be incredibly well thought out and of the highest quality. BMotion is surely on track to get snapped up both by promoters for bookings and labels for exclusivity. I am already excited for both this producer’s next steps and the continuation of the Soulvent Records platform.
