[Drum & Bass/Dubstep] Spor – Ziggurat / Push Me, Pull You

There is no question that when it comes to artistic vision and creativity Jon Gooch is without a doubt part of the upper echelon of all human beings. Most recently known for his stage moniker Feed Me, Jon Gooch has been generating quiet a buzz surrounding all of his work. From collaborations with groups such as Crystal Fighters, to his outstanding original dubstep and electro originals and even his sensational Essentials Mix for BBC Radio 1, Feed Me has been a dominant force in the EDM scene. However, as a result of this recent success as Feed Me, Jon strayed from his project which initially garnered him fame, Spor. For many months, drum and bass fans around the globe have feared that the legend that is Spor might never return but fortunately this is not the case. Spor is back in action releasing two original tunes, Ziggurat and Push Me, Pull You, the latter being a feature in Feed Me’s Essential Mix. Jon highlighted the release of his latest tracks on his Facebook stating,

“New release on Lifted Music from myself. Who said I left? Genres mean nothing to me, I just love music, thank you to everyone who supports me.”

Ziggurat / Push Me, Pull You comes out today on Lifted Music  and can be purchased here. Enjoy.

[Drum and Bass] Feed Me & Crystal Fighters – Love Is All I Got (Friction Remix)

Improving a production from Feed Me is no easy task, but Friction does an outstanding job on this one. Starting off with some catchy chords and sampling the original vocals and piano melody. Then dropping into some massive drum work surrounded by his on twist on the harmonic synths that Feed Me used. If your not a huge DNB fan,Friction could change that after just one listen. Cheers.

[Dubstep/Glitch] Dodge & Fuski – Bad Meaning Good EP

Over the past few years, Never Say Die Records has without a doubt established itself as one of the premier labels representing some of the most innovative and talent producers in all of EDM. Being a fan of heavy bass music, I eagerly await any material Never Say Die Records puts out, and their latest release, Dodge & Fuski’s Bad Meaning Good EP is no exception. Bad Meaning Good, is a refreshingly diverse EP featuring five quality releases which highlight a vast range of tempos and styles of bass music. The first track off the EP, “Got 2 Come Together” is a high-energy track brimming with hard-hitting bass and strident synths. Another highlight of the EP, is “Turn It Up,” a glitch-hop track riddled with wobbles and ingeniously spliced vocal samples. “Turn It Up” is an excellent example of how this EP showcases Dodge & Fuski’s aptitude to create top-notch productions regardless of the genre. “Bad” is an aggressive drum and bass tune, which highlights Messinian’s grimy vocals with heavy wobbles and laser pitched synths. Also included on the EP is Brown & Gammon’s incredibly unique remix of “Bad” and arguably the most unique track of the EP, “Call My Name,” a more melodic bass filled tune. All in all, this EP is exactly what one should expect from any Never Say Die release, pure gold! Give each track a listen and grab a copy on Beatport here. Enjoy.
