[Event/Playlist] Nightmare Festival Takes Over The Dojo

Nightmare Festival is just around the corner. October 27th through the 29th will see the Halloween music and arts festival take over Camp Ramblewood in Maryland. The unique festival is not only taking over Camp Ramblewood, but they’ve just took over the dojo!

Our Dojo Takeover Spotify playlist has just been revamped with tracks from artists you’ll be seeing at the festival. Some of these artists include Caspa, Figure, Quix, Minnesota, Reid Speed, Skism, Boogie T and many more. Let’s end the week nicely with a dirty premiere shall we? Enter sfam and the new single “Expand” from the producer’s EP of the same name. The duo’s project has dropped through Quality Goods Records today and we’ve got the premiere for you. Ready for an exclusive first listen?

“Expand” showcases sfam’s heightened rhythmic senses. Different sounds play with each other in a way that’s unusual if you were to collect a handful of bass records together. That unique style is part of what makes this single stand out. Superb sound design and a seasoned display of minimalism go a long way to making this song what it is. We’re proud to present something so interesting to you to end the week and we hope you check out the entire EP – maybe you’ll even expand your digital library with a copy of it. We did!

[Dubstep/Trap] Kai Wachi – Die Young EP

With how amazing Kai Wachi‘s music is, he’s going to live forever through the legacy he is building. This is somewhat ironic given the name of his latest project, Die Young, that was released today on Kannibalen Records. The project is another step in the right direction for Kai who is already steps ahead of most producers.

Officially Die Young features four originals including “LUVSICK” that is already a success in its own right as a single. On top of the hybrid tracks that he’s added to the mix, we get a bonus free download called “No Games” that can only be found on Soundcloud. Our guess is that it has to do with an uncleared vocal sample. It’s good for us though, as we can get this one for free. Even if it wasn’t the entire EP is worth the purchase price. Get ready to get filthy with some bass, Die Young is here. Get your copy online, or add it to your playlists!

[Multi-Genre] Conrank – The Big Smoke Beat Tape

Bassrush and Insomniac Records came together to back a massive project from the UK beat-boxer turned producer Conrank. The LP, The Big Smoke Beat Tape, moves fluidly between genres, showcasing the producer’s distinct UK sound.

Packed with eight singles, including collaborations with Dirt Monkey, Holly and more, The Big Smoke Beat Tape is just as big as you’d imagine. Conrank blends genres within tracks and through the LP delivering sounds like dubstep, trap, grime and many more. He describes the project as “a cross-section of what goes on in my studio on a day to day basis. A melting pot of tracks that maybe wouldn't necessarily be put together on a record normally.”

All together this LP is a must listen and must have. It’s currently out now on digital platforms if you’d like to get a copy. Share this around with your friends who will praise you for a unique find and your great taste.
